Trump boasts he went '5 for 5' in Tuesday's elections

President Trump on Wednesday boasted that all five candidates he endorsed in this week's elections won their races, even as contests in Ohio and Kansas were too close to call.

The president declared victory in a brief tweet: "5 for 5!"

Trump sent the message from his New Jersey golf club, where he is spending the week on vacation.

Troy Balderson, a Trump-backed Republican running for a vacant House seat in Ohio, held a narrow lead over his upstart Democratic challenger after Tuesday night's voting.

The same goes for Republican Kris Kobach, who was less than 200 votes ahead of incumbent Gov. Jeff Colyer (R) in Kansas' GOP gubernatorial primary.

Even if both candidates pull out victories, the close results are not encouraging for Trump and the Republican Party.

Balderson's district is solidly Republican district, and has been in the GOP's hands since 1983. But Republican groups were forced to spend millions of dollars to fend off Democrat Danny O'Connor and Trump made a last-minute stop in the district to stage a rally for Balderson.

In Kansas, Trump's endorsement did not give Kobach a decisive edge like it did in Georgia's gubernatorial primary and a South Carolina House primary where it propelled his hand-picked candidates to victory.

Still, Trump's team sought to portray the results as clear-cut wins.

"Clearly, the president’s support was pivotal in GOP primaries yesterday," Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale said in a statement. "President Trump is delivering the right kind of leadership, results, and inspiration to unify our party at just the right time to keep America winning."

Trump-backed candidates pulled off two wins in Michigan, where John James won the GOP Senate primary and Bill Schuette won the party's nod for governor. Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley (R) won the state's Senate primary.

Marxist Democrats are also counting on their Antifa Army to help deter the mid-term turnout, ya think?

Also, the media is going to do everything in its power to get people to tune in to election results.

That’s part of it, you’re right - but Fox News sure did a crap job of it last night, showing pre-recorded (and not very interesting) programs in prime time while the election results were coming in (and not being reported on).

Seriously. The spin is DEMENTED.

You can bet the MSM already had their stories written about Trump’s failure in the special elections even before the special elections. Then he went and drummed up support for his candidates and they won. This ruined the narrative of the MSM, but what the heck. They decided to pitch the narrative anyway in spite of the reality.

NEVER get complacent in an election.....especially a mid-term!

But some good news......only 86% of Democrats who voted in November 2016 (Presidential) turned out for the runoff yesterday.

But some bad news.....only 40% of Republicans who voted in November 2016 (Presidential) turned out for the runoff yesterday.

It reminds me of their behavior when their “Trump is separating families at the border!” narrative was interrupted by him coming out and saying they were no longer separating families at the border. It didn’t matter. They already had their stories written and were just going to ignore anything that contradicted them.

2016 results for District 12:
Republican 251,266
Democrat 112,638

2018 special election results:
Republican 101,574
Democrat 99,820

Numbers were down for both sides, but Republicans saw a 60% drop in turnout, and Democrats only saw an 11% drop

Dems were energized for a win to stick it to Trump. Republicans said “what’s the point, we are going back to vote again in the same race 3 months from now”

These August elections are good indicators for the Dems so they know in which precincts they need to concentrate their cheating. We need to turn out in droves to counter the evildoers.

What a contrast from Dem cadidates telling Obama to stay far away during their elections.

Man, the winning just keeps coming. What a fun time to be a conservative. I was sure I would be tearing my hair out by now with CNN playing president Hilary on TV every night as she pushed her communist agenda.

What a 180-degree turn. Instead of being despondent, I am euphoric, and the frosting on that cake is watching liberal politicians and liberal celebrities driven insane by every Trump tweet and news appearance.

I have no liberal friends, by choice. But suddenly I wish I had one, to mock ampnd tease about President Trump. I should make a liberal friend so I have someone to torment.

I dont bother to vore here in California. There is just no point in it. I am completely swamped by overwhelming numbers and massive voter fraud protected by liberals at every level of government. It is pointless for a conservative to vote in California elections.

We really need Rosendale to beat Tester for US Senate from Montana. Years ago this would be a milk run.

'Well, Trump is President and there's going to be a Red Wave so it's all good. Right? Do I really need to vote in November? It's all sown-up. Why bother to vote?' (says too many complacent Republican voters).

You need to vote anyways. Two reasons:

1) Enough people say this, and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

and

2) You need to be a voice that cries "ENOUGH." The louder the voice, the more possibility they will hear.

It is important. Vote.

See my above. This is a wind important enough to piss into.

Races were closer than they should have been..

Only because the libs can concentrate on onsie twosie races. The election in November won’t be like that.

“Races were closer than they should have been.”

Possibly, but consider the rats had the opportunity to put ALL their resources into just five races and didn’t win one?
That has to sap their enthusiasm for the mid-terms. Hard to keep enthusiasm up when the defeats keep coming.
Since the left runs on emotion their tanks should be close to empty. Not a good place to be with the mid-terms coming with so many seats to defend.

Since the Pantsuit Princess lost the rats have been on a notable losing streak.
Take the Roy Moore thing out of the equation and the rats don’t seem to have much to be happy about.

Doesn’t mean we can be complacent.
