I dont expect much fair treatment from the media. As a gun owner and writer, I look at my colleagues in the mainstream media not so much as colleagues, but as the opposition. Typically, theyll paint someone like me as anything but a decent human being, so its understandable why.
However, Forbes recently did a story about how difficult it is for reasonable gun owners to deal with what they see as unreasonable anti-gunners.
Its a fairly balanced piece and doesnt paint gun owners in too negative a light. It does mention some of our more extreme folks, which we all know exist. Hell, Im pretty sure some people lump me in that category. In some ways, I probably am. Im an absolutist, after all.
That said, I also support property rights, so if a gun store wants my weapon in a bag too and from the store, that is certainly their right and not an infringement on my Second Amendment rights.

The Left’s definition of “reasonable” is “my way or the highway.”
Liberty for me but none for thee.
What 'gun store' wants this? Is this a straw-man to knock down with a ridiculous argument?
And why should reasonable gun owners HAVE TO deal with unreasonable gun-grabber? Shouldn't it be the other way around?
Hey, Gun Grabbers? I don’t have to be reasonable. I’m armed. STFU and stay out of my way and we’ll get along just fine.
Oops! Was I being unreasonable? Did I make a Snowflake cry? LOL! Hope so! :)
The word “reasonable” is not in the 2nd Amendment..................
People don’t like guns because they are loud and make holes in people. If it was just about the piles of dead bodies, we must also discuss knives, bathtubs and drunks, which make bigger piles than guns.
we know that it wont stop here. If we give up the AR-15s and swallow background checks on everything, well then have to swallow something else later when that doesnt work. Itll keep going and going and going. It wont stop, and we all know it.”...
True of EVERYTHING, not just the 2A.
The leftist version of compromise is you give something, and they take it.
I think its reasonable to follow the Constitution.
Being reasonable doesn’t prevent a home invader from killing your family.
There is no reason because the gun grabbers never offer up a plan whereby there will be no further erosion of gun rights if any given offer is accepted by gun owners. So the only reasonable position by gun advocates is to offer no compromise.
Any BUSINESS has the right to set any rules it chooses, within the law. Consumers have the right to not patronize those businesses if they don't like the rules. Only when GOVERNMENT interferes is it an infringement.
It isn’t difficult to demonstrate to gun prohibitionists how skewed the argument has become. I now ask them, “OK, so you want me to give up thousands of dollars in personal property and something I consider my birthright. What are you willing to give up in return?” The answer is usually either “Nothing”, which gives the game away, or some variation on “I’ll give up a right I don’t want and you give up a right you do want,” which isn’t really any better. In clear truth there’s no reciprocity, no reason, only a cold command to surrender, immediately or incrementally. The only possible answer to that is “No.”
Having watched the irrationality of the gun-control lobby closely for over three decades, and realizing it existed for decades prior to my noticing it, I don't see any reason to consider the anti-gunners reasonable or even reasoning. Their agenda is clear to me and it is not what they pretend it is.
Here are some samples of the rare times they are honest about it...
Yep, really can't argue with its success.
I think you (along with countless gun owners on a daily basis) have been very, if not overly, reasonable. Why in 1776, the gun grabbers got shot at for much much less.
As do hospital/doctor errors, which is about 10X that of death by gun.
I think the Left and the media are becoming more transparent as Left Wing anti-American activists - the people are starting to understand that The Democrats really are socialists and want to destroy our country.
Exactly. How can you be “reasonable” with some who wants to stamp on your basic individual rights?
“Forbes: Gun Owners Find It Hard To Be Reasonable”
Ultra rich aholes like him would probably find it hard to be reasonable and give up their armed body guards.
