Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Sunday said she hopes to remain on the high court for at least five more years, according to CNN.
"My senior colleague, Justice John Paul Stevens, he stepped down when he was 90, so think I have about at least five more years," 85-year-old Ginsburg said at an event in New York City.

In Private sector jobs you work your ass off so that you dont get fired and hopefully someday get a promotion & raise.
1) In Public sector you can goof off and practically no one bothers you.
2) Its almost impossible for you to get fired.
3) You know that everyone else is a lazy bum and worse than you esp if they have been around longer.
4) You dont have to worry about your pay as its the poor saps of the taxpayers are paying you.
5) Its almost impossible to get a BAD annual review or merit increase.
6) On top of all of this you can accumulate your SICK TIME OFF until your retirement (almost everyone I know that works in Govt does this). So after 25-30 yrs of practically doing very little to nothing, you get a hefty 5-9 yrs Bonus Pay for all the sick time accumulated but you never really needed as they give you so much time off already!

If I were her, I would be worried about making it another 5 years on this earth. That is not a threat or wishing her ill will. Just a comment on her advanced age and health.
According to actuarial tables, at 85, she is expected to live to almost 92 years old.
