NY Times publisher tells Trump anti-press attacks 'dangerous and harmful'

The publisher of the New York Times has warned Donald Trump in a White House meeting that the president's escalating attacks on the news media are "inflammatory" and "dangerous and harmful to our country."
Trump's meeting with A.G. Sulzberger, who took the reins of the prestigious newspaper on Jan. 1, took place July 20, following a request from the White House for what appeared to be a routine get-to-know-you session.
The session, which also included Times editorial page editor James Bennet, had remained secret under mutual agreement until Trump tweeted about it early Sunday.
"Had a very good and interesting meeting at the White House with A.G. Sulzberger, Publisher of the New York Times," Trump said on Twitter.
"Spent much time talking about the vast amounts of Fake News being put out by the media & how that Fake News has morphed into phrase, 'Enemy of the People.' Sad!"
Sulzberger, in a statement released by the Times, said the president's tweet effectively "put the meeting on the record," and he described what appeared to be an unusually tough and blunt session with the president.

One of PT’s only flaws, is that be craves the attention of these demons.
The so-called “news” media is nothing more (or less) than the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party.
Then print the real news. Real facts, real figures.
nonsense the media deserves every bit of criticism it gets and more. if they want it to stop then they need learn to play fair or learn to deal with getting called on it.

I don’t know about that. But the reverse is definitely true. The media’s escalating attacks on Trump are inflammatory, and dangerous and harmful to our country.
Plus, the media lies and distorts. Trump is just telling it like it is.
The press are complaining about Trump doing what I do on my blog for years. To paraphrase Clint Eastwood, opinions are like ;$&)&& everyone’s gotta have one.
Then that publisher needs to take the initiative and redirect the NYT back to reporting the news that’s fit to print, not propaganda that serves the democrat party’s political aims.
I didn't need Trump to tell me this. I already knew it.
Personally, I consider a press that has taken up where TASS left off after the fall of the USSR dangerous.
Deades ago, the USSR placed moles in our media to influence the media to promote Soviet propaganda. Perhaps it is time for the media to eradicate the Soviet influence, instead of complaining that President Trump is calling them out.

Donald Trump did not start his war with the press. From the moment he started criticizing Obama and decided to run for President they have savaged him at every opportunity. They slandered, mocked, lied, and abused him and his family constantly. He has good reason to hate and despise them because of their actions.
