Defense Secretary Jim Mattis spoke before press on Friday after the remains of 55 troops believed to be U.S. service members were returned to U.S. custody by North Korea. He said that efforts to retrieve additional remains will continue, including the possibility of the U.S. entering North Korea for assistance.
Outside the Pentagon, a reporter asked Mattis if there were plans for U.S. military personnel to enter North Korea for search missions to find additional U.S. troops remains.
That is certainly under consideration. Absolutely, Mattis replied, according to Fox News Jennifer Griffin, who posted to Twitter.

How long before CNN’s headline reads, “Trump to invade North Korea!!!”?
Interesting.
We will never forget them.
If this actually goes down, the LSM will have NO WAY to downplay the success that DJT has had with NK.
U2 flights over NK are happening right now.
There were, and maybe still are US Troops in Vietnam similarly looking for remains with Vietnamese counterparts. I recall a helicopter went down with such a team several years ago.
How can anyone argue with the fact that President Trump is bringing home the remains of American soldiers.
Never leave a brother. After all of these years, and many presidencies, we finally bring home our brothers and Marines.
May God have mercy on their soul and give comfort to those who knew and loved them.
Having spent two tours in Korea (72 and 85), I would love to volunteer for this assignment. Wonder if they will take a 65 year old that can still handle a 5 plus mile ruck march and can kinda speak the local lingo to boot?
Doesn’t North Korea have, at least, one museum (and, possibly, even, many more museums) which contain the remains of many Korean War soldiers, from all sides?
You gotta wonder if there’s a risk of providing Kim with hostages.
I hope General Mattis will request the same access from Vietnam and Laos. How many are still missing from the Vietnam war? No thanks to John McCain who sealed the records.
McLame was just providing diligent and faithful service to his masters
Just WOW! Can you imagine even such a scenario being contemplated under Obama? Even Bush or Clinton would not have got this far.
John McCain personally stopped us from looking for soldiers left behind. That’s why Perot hated his guts.
Exactly.
Even Kim must marvel at the propaganda flowing out from our press, and that our government doesn’t even hold mass firing squads.
Good for you. You served. Did you get a combat award? I hope NOT. Hope you have no PH, CIB, valor award etc.
