US President Donald Trump has rejected a proposal made by the Russian leader Vladimir Putin that Russia be allowed to question US citizens.

The White House earlier said it would consider it but now says Mr Trump "disagrees" with the suggestion.

The offer was made at a summit of the two leaders. In return, Mr Putin suggested he might allow access to 12 Russians indicted by the US.

The idea of allowing a foreign power to quiz US citizens sparked outrage.

"It is a proposal that was made in sincerity by President Putin, but President Trump disagrees with it," White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said on Thursday.

"Hopefully President Putin will have the 12 identified Russians come to the United States to prove their innocence or guilt," she said....

Maybe letting Putin’s goons grill PIAPS might be a good idea?

The media took the bait about sending our people to Russia. How stupid are they??

IIRC, we do not have an extradition treaty with Russia.

I hope Putin allows Mueller to talk to the “12 russians” because I got a feeling that would be dropped pretty quick

I am of the opinion that they can ask ... but no one is under an obligation to answer.

Huh? I know she was forced to read this, but what should be said is something along the lines of "Countries spy on other countries ALL. THE. TIME. It's their job. It's our job to protect our citizens. We have made vast improvements and will do a much better job than the previous administration in preventing these and other foreign intelligence agents from hacking our citizens. Citizens have a part in this too. If you're, say, a campaign chairman, don't make your password 'Password'. Thank you."

“Trump rejects proposal for Russia to interrogate US citizens”

Will be interesting to see how our domestic enemies will SUPPORT allowing Russia to interrogate our citizens.

Wait — BJ’s wife’s Waco Fascists did it for us HERE a couple years ago:

“Why should they object if they have nothing to hide?”

Maybe Putin will follow Mueller’s example by indicting Soros and hiding the evidence to justify trial until Soros shows up for in Russia.

Putin plays chess as does Trump. The Demonic rats are still on snakes and ladders working there way up to checkers.

In reality the Russia today is our adversary on the world stage of influence. Russia is an economic basket case with a very potent nuclear arsenal. For this reason they must be dealt with carefully. Our nuclear arsenal is as potent if not more so. Russia nor the USA desire war, sometimes I think the insane democrats do desire war. If such happens there will be no winners. If such happens civilized society will cease to exist. It will be an ugly finish.

Considering the economic might of the USA and the European Union it should be no contest. The EEC are slackards on defense and are committing social suicide via mass immigration of Muslims. They are lost. Oddly Eastern Europe whom suffered Soviet Tyranny understands and are our most staunch allies. They saw bad, lived it and do not want it. I love the Polish.

Why would they come here and put themselves in harm's way?

Because the charges are a joke, any first-year law student can blow them up, and there won't be enough Depends in all of Washington to supply Mueller and his team if it happens.

What should be said is “Just because Bob Mueller and Rod Rosenstein planned an announcement of an indictment of people they can never question, much less put on trial, all to get a headline and disrupt the President’s summit with a major nuclear power, I don’t have to assume they are guilty and neither should you. In fact the nature of this all smells like politics to me, pure and simple.”

So what took so long to make that decision unless it was to chum the waters.

I see that Putin's offer was a potential trap for Trump. No matter what Trump chose, he would be slammed by media and I think Putin knew this. If he refused right away, I am certain the critics would be screaming at the top of their lungs that Trump didn't want the Russian's questioned because he has something to hide.

Letting it play out that he considered it let the media establish the narrative that Trump is wrong to even consider it. They have closed the door on accusing Trump of trying to hide the collusion by not agreeing to let Mueller question Russians.

Yes, Putin set a trap. But it wasn’t a media based trap. It was a “why should I give you my guys when you won’t give me your guy”. Trump says yes, he’s weak. He says no, Putin says why should I send my guys to you. Trump looks weak again. The trap was all Putin on Trump. Media was just icing on the cake for him.
