When Scarlett Johansson was selected to play a transgender role in a forthcoming film called Rub and Tug there was an immediate backlash. Today, Variety reports that Johansson has backed out of the role because of the controversy:
In light of recent ethical questions raised surrounding my casting as Dante Tex Gill, I have decided to respectfully withdraw my participation in the project, Johansson told Out Magazine, which first reported the news, in a statement. Our cultural understanding of transgender people continues to advance, and Ive learned a lot from the community since making my first statement about my casting and realize it was insensitive

The makers of movies and TV shows are just itching to splash a tranny on the screen to convince us that tran is good, and that we should all give special privileges to trans and let them throw us in jail for using the “wrong” pronoun.
Like hell.

It's so friggin' rampant now it's nearly impossible to watch anything where it doesn't eventually rear its ugly head. Two to four per cent of the population should NOT have that much influence. 😡

She is playing a trans-woman? Maybe they didn’t think she was passable.
Didn’t we already do this with “The Crying Game”?

If Hollywood actually paid taxes they couldn’t afford to make Tranny Movies.

We're told that we must be tolerant and accepting of the Gay Community, but when the roles are reversed, we don't seem to get much tolerance or acceptance from them.
I say we base our levels of acceptance and tolerance on what we receive from the perverts, pedophiles and drag fags on their side. This "special treatment" for weirdos and reprobates isn't codified into any Law that has my consent, and absent our consent, that authority does not exist.

This is actually good news because Johannson has now set the precedent that actors should refuse to play trans roles unless they are trans. Such movies will be much more difficult to make now because there won't be any bankable stars in lead roles. Likely only small, independents films that most people will never see, and for which the ad campaigns really won't exist.
Well done!

She played a clone in the movie “The Island” why can’t she play a transgender?

The very essence of "acting" is be be pretend to be a person they'll not. Nobody expects Gal Gadot(Wonder Woman) to be an 'superhero" and be able to defect millions of bullets.(
Same here. But then, reality has a different meaning in Hollywood.

Should we tell these idiots that Tom Cruise isn't really a spy? Assuming some of them like Mission Impossible it could really be a downer to find out he was only ACTING.
