Several swing-vote senators, including moderate Republicans and vulnerable Democrats in red states, have given GOP leaders cause for optimism that Brett Kavanaugh will soon be confirmed to replace retiring Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy on the Supreme Court.
Though Kavanaugh's confirmation remains uncertain because of Republicans' razor-thin 51-49 majority in the Senate, the moderates' early reactions indicate that millions of dollars in spending by liberal groups to sway key senators against Kavanaugh may ultimately prove fruitless.
Only 50 votes are needed to confirm Kavanaugh, after Republicans eliminated the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees last year. Democratic leaders had removed the filibuster for other federal judgeships in 2013 to confirm President Barack Obama's nominees to the D.C. Circuit.

Here is an earlier post that sheds some additional light on the Senate RATs:

Basically, some of them are telling Chucky Schmuckie to GFY!
This is going to drive the MSM-Democrats even more nuts.
IMHO Schumer told President Trump privately that Kavanaugh would be a go, even if publicly they would be against him. Trump knows he has the votes.
McCain is a definite no.
I believe McCain’s “proxy” already said he would vote for Kavanaugh.
F McLame!
Please note, it is NOT a 51-49 split in the Senate, it is a 50-49 split. Senator McCain has not appeared in the chamber since last December, and may not even be able to raise his hand and wrist enough to sign a resignation letter at this point.
Is he even conscious any more? Even the most aggressive and heroic medical procedures cannot reverse the course of events.
The Senate is composed of 100 of the most power people in the world. No one wants to give up that power and the perks that go along with it. Sure, some of them won’t want to support Kavanaugh. On the other hand, it’s a nice cushy position and they will never have anything quite like it again. At some point, self preservation kicks in, and they’ll vote for self preservation.
Vote them out anyway , they’ll turn on you in the end
I get the feeling that those Senators claiming to not be Shumer's bitch, are only doing so for show. They are probably up for re-lection in the midterms and want to be seen as independent. They will most likely vote in lock-step, as usual.
Just a theory. Never EVER believe a democrat.

RE: McCain
I can only surmise, based on the loss of a fellow HS classmate last year to Gilioblastoma, that McCain will not be with us much longer unless by some hook or crook, he is in the single digit percentage of victims of this horrible cancer, that survive it for more than a year. People who live for much more than a year, can be counted on the fingers of one hand and have fingers left over. So the reality is that unless we get a couple of RATs to vote yes, we can loose only one RINO. Sen. Lee says he thinks everyone in the GOP is in, and yesterday several of the RATS (McCaskill, Manchin, and one other) told Shumer what he could do with his “whipping the vote” against Kavanaugh.
President Trump engineered a we win, you lose scenario for the unhinged left.
Lesser Presidents would have bent to the pressure and nominated Garland.
What is funny is the Democrat Senators in conservative states are still at risk, and Trump’s victory at the supreme court will bump up Republican enthusiasm and create despair among the far left Progressives.
The bottom line is, you vote against, Brett Kavanaugh, you will lose your senate seat if you are running in a “red state”. But...even some Democrat Blue/Purple state Senators will vote yes for Kavanaugh. Possibles, Bill Nelson, Tim Kaine, Debbie Stabenow, joe Manchin, Tammy Baldwin, Joe Donnelly, and about five or six more.
And if these fools vote no, Trump will be hitting their states with massive campaign rallies, telling his faithfuls to defeat you all. Democrats, who do you listen, to, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, or POTUS, Donald J Trump?
"Look, we can defeat this nominee if we all vote against AND pick off Collins or Paul or Murkowsky. But we'd lose up to 3 Senate seats which means we are doomed when RBG or any of 'our' Justices dies or retires. The real political knife fight isn't over this guy, it's over the next nominee.
So, let's lose the battle to win the war. Manchin, you talk tough against me to win political re-election points. Donnelly and Heitkamp - you're free to vote "yea" to win re-election. I'll remain a looney on MSNBC and we'll send out word via Journolist and other back channels that they need to make it LOOK like we're against this guy, but not too much otherwise the Antifa wing of our Useful Idiot brigade will hurt us in November.
Yea, we will lose this confirmation (the guy may be a stealth Dem a-la Roberts anyway...thankfully he isn't a Gorsuch) but we will keep our 3 seats on the bubble. That means we keep it 51-49 so we can pummel the next nominee (even if we don't know who it is), stop MAGA legislation from 2019 into to 2020 so we can be strong in running Kamala Harris for President."
You mean like he said he would vote against Obamacare?
“Never EVER believe a democrat.”
Their problem is, if all of their bloviating is just a screen, is that the vote to confirm Kavanaugh will take place before the November election, so if these feckless turds think that saying one thing now and doing something else when it comes to the vote will save them from loosing their seats, they are in la-la land. Personally I think Manchin will either switch Parties or loose, and now that he has a GOP opponent, it’s past time for the switch. I also think that Tester (MT) is a dead duck.
Please give us the source for the Schumer quote: I have never read that he’s said anything of the kind.
Nelson will vote no. The man has been in the Senate for decades, and done nothing but voted for the left 100%. His AD’s running here are the typical same crap , and is thinking he will win again with his scare tactics for the elderly, poor, welfare, and immigrants.
It’s self-preservation, but I’ll take it.
