College-Grad Salaries Cut by Hidden Army of 1.5 Million Visa-Workers
Breitbart ^ | 7/6/2018 | Neil Munro

Posted on 07/11/2018 5:44:38 AM PDT by Javeth

White-collar salaries are stalling partly because roughly 1.5 million non-immigrant, lower-wage visa-workers have been quietly imported to take many white-collar jobs, sometimes directly from American employees.

...

Media descriptions of the controversial H-1B program say it brings in 85,000 foreign graduates per year. But the program actually keeps at least 460,000 foreign workers in the United States. Other estimates put the resident H-1B population at 650,000 or even up to almost 1 million.

Similarly, the number of foreign college-grads getting a work-permit via the little-known “Option Practical Training” program rose again in 2018, despite President Donald Trump’s “Hire American” policy. The number of valid OPT work-permits for foreign graduates rose from roughly 200,000 in 2016 to 250,000 in 2017...

...

Few Americans even know about the L-1 visa program which allows U.S.-based companies to hire foreigners at foreign wage-levels for work inside the United States, says Ron Hira, a Howard University professors who Indian parents were immigrants. He said in a 2016 report:

"The L-1 visa and F-1 visa Optional Practical Training (OPT) programs are in many ways more harmful to American workers than the H-1B program. They have no protections for American workers or foreign workers. There are no recruitment or non-displacement requirements for either program. American workers can and are replaced by these workers " ...

This army of at least 1.1 million white-collar visa-workers is reinforced by at least 300,000 Indian white-collar graduates who can work in U.S. jobs while they wait in line for green cards. Most of those “EAD workers” arrived as temporary H-1B and L-1 workers, but are allowed to continue working with renewable Employment Authorization Documents while they wait for a green card to become an immigrant. Roughly 100,000 spouses of EAD workers also have been given work permits.

Great article in Breitbart about this un-holy mess with foreign worker visas that have no other purpose than to massively cut the living wages and job opportunities for American workers, both out of college and with experience. All for the sake of importing more slave labor for plutocrats like the Chamber of Commerce, Mark Zuckerberg, George Soros, the Koch Brothers and Sheldon Adelson who are the main funders of the cheap labor lobby that's bought not only Chuck Schumer and the Democratic Party, also the backstabbing traitorous RINOs like Lindsey Graham, Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan, Lamar Alexander, Rick Scott, Mitch McConnell, John McCain, Roger Wicker, Martha McSally, Susan Collins, Dean Heller, Lisa Murkowski and Paul Hoeven.

Make not mistake, this overflow of cheap labor visas for India and China's masses of slave workers is nothing other than full blown economic and demographic warfare against the American people. Salaries like anything else in economic, respond to supply and demand. And, in flooding the US workforce with millions of disposable foreign workers who can be worked to death and discarded, the globalist open-borders plutocrats like Zuckerberg, and their shills like Matthew Yglesias from Vox in this article, accomplish their real underlying goal: making it too hard for even high skilled Americans to make enough of a salary to afford the high living costs in the US, which means we're unable to start families. Our birthrate drops and then the open-borders globalists have all the excuse they need to import millions of new slave workers from the 3rd world to replace us.

It was disappointing to read that the numbers of these visas weren't much curbed in 2017, but we absolutely should not blame Trump for this. The swamp inside the beltway is unfortunately a big place and it's full of snakes, many of whom have no doubt made their way into Trump's administration. He's too busy to monitor everyone all the time, so unfortunately some of these traitors on immigration have managed to sneak into positions of power and are continuing to add to the mass cheap labor visa giveaway that Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton all gave out like candy.

This is where can come in, by making calls, sending letters, writing articles, contacting the whitehouse.gov site and also reaching out to more major media figures esp. ones like Tucker Carlson and Ann Coulter that President Trump and his closest advisers listen to, and help bring attention to this high quality article in Breitbart. The good news, immigration enforcement is entirely a job for the executive branch, and even Congressional laws only give permission for a maximum ceiling of legal immigration each year. They do not require the executive branch let in any particular number, certainly not the million who flood their way in each year and are permanently changing the very nature and culture of the US, in fact Trump could put a moratorium on all immigration tomorrow if he wanted and it would be perfectly legal to do so. He's had the backs of the American people on immigration and trade and he'll continue to put America first, and when news of this mass visa scamming and this war on the American people and workers reaches the right people in the executive branch, Trump can shut down this mass visa fraud with a single executive order. MAGA and help get the word out!

All of the low-skill workers (who often vote Democrat) will benefit if Trump can get rid of the flood of illegal immigrants.

All of the high-skill STEM workers (some of whom vote Democrat) will benefit if Trump can address the H1-B disaster.

Good for the country, and it’s good politically. 100% of the people who oppose Trump on this issue will oppose him no matter what. Fighting for American jobs won’t cost Trump a single vote, it’s nothing but gain for him.

Unfortunately, the 25 year old snowflakes, who are demanding Open Borders, are unable to see the link between the lack of jobs for them and open borders.

But that is no surprise as they have not been educated to think for themselves, but instead to follow the latest protest march created by their leftist leaders.

The visas certainly contribute to the problem, but I think these factors are more important:

1. We have been encouraging far too many kids to go to college relative to the demand for college graduates.

2. The graduates are generally less productive than those of prior generations, due to grade inflation, declining work ethic, racial/sexual quotas, and bad majors.

And H1B get work permits for family, and then they pop-out anchor babies and stay. All of this needs to stop. Send them all home. Gives these jobs back to US citizens!

I left being a COBOL programmer back around the turn of the century because American ones were billing out at $75 -$100 an hour and the indian ones were billing at $17. I needed to do something that they couldn’t do. Something communication intensive.

I’ve been a Business Analyst ever since.

All that happened when the US feral government started handing out student loans like candy to dumb 18-year olds who had no concept of cost-benefit analysis.

The colleges could charge anything they wanted, and the dumb 18-year olds would borrow it.

That’s how the colleges got all that money for affirmative-action “perfessers” of imaginary degrees.

I have posted this on here before and I’ll post it again.

I’m a consultant. I do projects for big banks. In the very large bank I work for now, I am not exaggerating when I tell you that about 1/4th of the people doing back office functions (accounting, finance, auditing, etc) are Indian H1B visa holders. It might even be 1/3rd. They themselves have told me they get paid less money than Americans when I asked why there were so many. No, these are not people with masters degrees in computer science. These are mostly lower level standard white collar jobs that should be filled with 20 and 30 something Americans.

I have noticed this for years even during the Great Recession. This is a scandal. I’m amazed it doesn’t get brought up more often. Those should be overwhelmingly Americans in those jobs. Yes, the banks would have to pay more. Too bad. It’s terrible for the country to allow this. Not only do Americans get denied those jobs and have to take lesser jobs, but where are the middle and upper middle managers (about my level) going to come from in 10-15 years if younger Americans are denied many of these jobs today?

We not only need to keep out illegals, we need to tighten up legal work visas given out. Companies are lying when they say they can’t find qualified Americans. They just don’t want to pay more.

In no way is this H-1b visa scam a new problem.

The brain drain from there is complete.

I’ve worked at MANY places where they overloaded themselves with H1B visa holders, and I made a great deal of money fixing the software they created.

So, the net cost savings is nil. (in fact they lost money)

Thanks for posting. Boot them all. When the Chamber of Corruption and cheap foreign labor importers start complaining, they should be told to (1) hire Americans and (2) spend at least half as much money training American workers as they currently spend on lobbyists to bring in foreigners. I have ZERO sympathy for them.

PS I should add I have a buddy who works for a different big bank in NTC and he says it’s exactly the same there. We both largely escaped that because we’re in our 40s and are about one level too high to see much of that, but those 1-2 decades younger are really being denied opportunities because of it.

That's the ticket trash Americans and tow the GOPe party line you POS globalist hack.

You sound like an antifa goon.

The fact is that a college degree isn't worth what it once was worth after the US feral government started handing out student loans like candy to dumb 18-year olds who had no concept of cost-benefit analysis.

The colleges could charge anything they wanted, and the dumb 18-year olds would borrow it. That's why college costs have risen 1000% in the past 35 years.

That’s also how the colleges got all that money for affirmative-action “perfessers” of imaginary subjects.

2. The graduates are generally less productive than those of prior generations, due to grade inflation, declining work ethic, racial/sexual quotas, and bad majors.

An unpopular view here, but it must be stated. There was a time when the American worker was unquestionably worth a premium salary. Now that jobs have to be designed for the lowest common denominator thanks to the corrosive effects of television culture and government education on our workforce over the last four decades, companies figure they might as well cut costs using the H1B program and other tactics.

Sure, there is a lot of short-sightedness in corporate hiring, but talent acquisition and retention has become a monumental challenge for American firms...just as the Socialists intended.

“Companies are lying when they say they can’t find qualified Americans.”

They are omitting one thing which makes it a lie, they are failing to state they cannot find qualified Americans who will work for their peasant wages.

After having been a COBOL programmer for many years, I switched to SQL/PLSQL.

Even then, I could not compete with the insular Indian invasion - they froze out the old staff.

Now that's racist!
