Thread for discussions before & after President Donald J Trump SCOTUS Pick!
I agree to feeling some comfort from Sekulow.
LOLOL!
Theyre both conservative Catholics.
To liberals, thats like driving a stake into the heat of a vampire.
Let the moaning and screeching begin. The liberal meltdown is all in good fun.
I see the protests have started with the filled in signs.
Also watching MSNBC and CNN. There biggest "general arguments" so far are that Kavanaugh comes down on protecting business against government regulation and that he believes in protecting Presidential powers and sitting presidents shouldn't be impeached.
Its fun watching the libtard press' heads explode.
“And of course hes miles better than any creature Hillary would have placed there.”
Amen.
Yep. I wasn’t so keen on the Bush connection but everything else sounds pretty good.
Waaaahhh!
I agree, I really like him.
Protestants and Catholics are what gave Trump the Presidency
I pray he is pro life. I guess we will find out
His dissent demonstrates an important difference between an "originalist" and a "textualist" on the U.S. Supreme Court. An originalist looks at the facts of a case and says: "What would the Founders who wrote the U.S. Constitution think about this?" A textualist looks at the facts of a case and says: "What does the U.S. Constitution say explicitly, and how would it apply to this?"
Antonin Scalia was an originalist. Clarence Thomas is a textualist. Both of them are among the most conservative Supreme Court justices this country has ever had ... and yet in some cases they aren't on the same side at all.
Thomas' dissent hinged on the critical fact that the cell phone records in question were owned by a third party, NOT by the defendant who was challenging the evidence in the case against him. And since the third party in that case voluntarily gave up the records to the police, there is no Fourth Amendment issue at stake. The police need a warrant to search your car under normal circumstances ... but if you lend your car to your friend and he lets them search it without a warrant, then you have no basis to complain about it on constitutional grounds.
**What Kavanaugh wont be is the Courts swing vote.**
That’s encouraging.
Will the swing vote be Roberts, now?
Yeah. Right. That’s what I think. A**hole.
That is off putting, but maybe he's saying it for some of the senators who might think it is a positive.
Yes... I like that Plan. How old is Thomas now?
They’re exploding !!!! :) :) :)
Apparently he’s for not indicting a sitting president. He’s Catholic, pro-life.
So of course he was picked by PDJT to protect himself...he’s passed the “loyalty” test - this is what they’re saying. Along with “gays will be illegal again” lol.
I swear, we should open new mental institutions and ask people if they’re “progressive”...it’s the only place they belong!!
lol. Bwhahahahaha. Enjoying the moment... lol lol lol.
