[FULL TITLE] UPDATE: Trump Has Made a Decision; White House Names 'Sherpa' to Help Supreme Court Nominee Get Confirmed

Former Arizona Senator Jon Kyl has been tapped by the White House to guide President Trump's Supreme Court nominee through the Senate confirmation process.

“Former Sen. Jon Kyl has agreed to serve as the Sherpa for the President’s nominee to the Supreme Court,” White House spokesman Raj Shah said Monday afternoon.

A "Sherpa" prepares a nominee for their hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, which includes escorting the individual to dozens of meetings on Capitol Hill.

Kyl served for 18 years in the Senate before retiring in 2013. He also served in the U.S. House of Representatives. During his time as a Senator, he participated in the confirmation hearings of four Supreme Court justices. This isn't the first time he's helped nominees get through the Senate. In 2017, Kyl helped prepare former Senator and current Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his confirmation hearing.

Kyl is a Rino. Hope someone whispers in his ear to remind him that Charles Smith, his Az Law School's most prestigious professor and friend of Rehnquist is watching him from above. And Smith was a true conservative and not afraid to fail any student who did not live up to his rigorous standards.
