Foxnews ^ | 8, July 2018 | Gregg Re

says Gregg Re President Trump should directly take on Russian President Vladimir Putin for meddling in the U.S. political process in their one-on-one meeting in Helsinki next week, Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham told "Fox News Sunday." "When Putin denies that he was involved in our election in 2016, reject the denial -- challenge him," Graham said in the exclusive interview. "Don't let him deny the obvious. They're still trying to disrupt the 2018 election cycle." The South Carolina senator acknowledged that Russian influence in Turkey is problematic, calling Turkey "an ally adrift." But, he added, "it's a new chapter" in Turkey after the re-election of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan amid sweeping government purges.

Lindsay Graham suffers from confused thinking on occasion. Oh, he is fairly lucid most of the time, but now and again he wanders into a fever swamp of his own imagination.

Scolding Putin is a fool’s errand, as I am sure Vladimir is fully aware of the accusations long made against the efforts of Russian government agents to affect the outcome of elections all over the world. The truth is, that most fraud in elections everywhere is almost entirely a home-grown phenomenon, needing no outside help at all. What does come from outside perpetrators is almost entirely marginal, and only builds upon fraud already present.

I don’t believe that any foreign policy decisions should be made if they are based in any way on fbi or cia propaganda.

Trump should take Lindsey along to the summit... and drop him off, then come home without him.

Every time Lindsey opens his yap on the issue of Russians, he advances the Leftist line on Russian intervention. While I agree that there are two branches of this issue, the general public isn't as in tune with the whole topic as we are.

The guy is too ignorant to get out of his own way, and he's screwing us in the process.

He think he's a U. S. Senator, and as such he needs to address certain issues in public. I sure with he woudln't.

He muddies the waters more often than not.

[As if the US never engages in “election meddling.”]

That’s the hilarious aspect of it, even if it were true.

They even mentioned this in “Falcon and the Snowman” regarding events that happened under Carter in the 1970’s.

Why should he do that Linda? Do you have definitive proof that Putin was behind any meddling in the U.S. elections?

But I stipulate that President Trump should not accept his denials at face value either. In fact, he probably shouldn't even bring the allegations up at all.

Yes. He’s helping to push this ridiculous narrative.

Makes me suspicious of what he’s really up to.

nobody listens to this guy anymore. The overwhelming majority of republicans consider him just a windbag who is in it for his own glory.

Hopefully his constituents dump him next time around. His buddy John will be gone and Trump will be pushing hard for him to be dumped in the primary.

I thought Graham is a lawyer...it's not what you think you know, it's what you can prove.
So go ahead an give the POTUS some advice that makes him look like a horse's pa-toot.

The people who insist that Russia meddled in the election somehow never ever get around to specifically saying how the Russians did it.

Some idiot has just come out with a book, of course, and I made myself watch his interview this morning on one of the shows, hoping he would get around to saying exactly how the Russians did it. When you write a book on such a narrow topic, it should be easy to stretch out and give example after example of how it was accomplished.

Well, no. He mentioned Russians using social media to control how Americans think.

Now, all these millions of people using social media, along with the hundreds of millions of dollars of political advertising by the Hillary campaign was not able to approach the success of Russian attempts to control American thought.

And this after the near-divine Obama decreed that it was impossible for any nation to tamper with American elections.

Graham has too much invested in this. Still waiting for the evidence of Russian government meddling. Those Mueller indictments of Russian nationals are a joke.

“WTF is wrong with pansy graham... He still upset hildabeast didn’t win?”

My guess is that Graham is worried about spending the rest of his life in prison, or being Arcancided if Trump isn’t pushed out of office soonest.

Lindsey, you nitwit, what do you want from Putin a signed apology that some Russian citizen placed some Facebook ads? They had as much affect on the election as a butterfly fart in a hurricane.

Uh-huh. So then Putin would just bring up what the US did during Yeltsin’s re-election campaign, which polls said Yeltsin would lose. Time magazine even had a big cover headline - “Yanks to the Rescue.”

Every country tries to influence elections in other major (or minor) countries, and the US does it all the time. Obama was a champion at this, even openly campaigning for his African Marxist Muslim favorites.

Russia is what it has always been, a vast territory that for some reason is under one rulership, and is both European and weirdly Asian.

I spent a long time among Russians in the US, most of them older Orthodox emigres who had fled first to China and then to Brazil and then to San Francisco. In New York, where I grew up, I had also met some wonderful people, such as Helena Iswolskaya, daughter of the Czar’s last minister to Paris. And then I worked in Cleveland, where one of the ancient men in the home that we ran for an Orthodox Church there (I think he was either from the Ukraine or from Carpathia, we had residents from both and I don’t recall) said that he remembered the czar coming on his white horse down to the miserable village where this man lived when he was about 8 or 9. The czar was liberating the peasants, but I doubt that the Czar ever came to this village and I think this was all from an elderly man’s enhanced memories.

But this doesn’t mean it wasn’t true in its essence. The man may have heard a story from other people in other places at that time, which was in fact when the serfs were being freed and programs were being set up to help them reestablsh themselves. Our resident would have been a teenager just prior to the Communist takeover, when the Marxists destroyed the whole thing, so maybe it’s true.

But I don’t know. The only thing I do know is that Communism is poison. You can recover from other things -such as nationalist movements like Franco’s, which actually protected Spain from American pro-Marxist pressure but excluded Spain from receiving aid - but made Spain a lot better positioned to become a democracy that other places under Marxist domination.

The message, boys and girls, is oppose Marxism.
