Judge Kethledge rigorously enforces all laws as they are written, including the immigration laws. He knows that faithfully applying the Immigration and Nationality Act means respecting Congress's decision to give federal courts only a limited role in the immigration process.
In Japarkulova v. Holder, Kethledge recognizedover a dissent from a liberal judgethat courts must defer to the executive branch's determination that an immigrant is not eligible for asylum. Even though the petitioner had a compelling life story, Kethledge upheld the law.
In Mora v. Holder, the petitioner entered the US legally at age 14 but then overstayed his visa. Kethledge noted that if the petitioner had been a citizen, we would call him a model one. But Judge Kethledge recognized that the courts lacked authority to grant him relief.
In his more than 10 years on the bench, Judge Kethledge has encountered hundreds of immigration cases. He shows no favoritism to immigrants--or to the government, for that matter--and instead focuses only on applying the laws passed by Congress as they are written. Kethledge paid his own way through law school after working as a waiter and (new) car salesman. He delivered pizzas for Dominos and did landscaping during college. And hes spent the last 3+ decades in Michigan. He would bring some much needed perspective from middle America.

Kavanaugh is a swamp creature...Barrett has almost no resume no no NO!!
I don’t trust Coulter’s judgment on much of anything.
Go for the proven conservative first. Then go young next time around.
Barrett was a clerk to Silberman and then Scalia. Then she was a law professor. That is plenty of resume. Now Kavanaugh I am suspicious of.
If the nominee fails and the Democrats retake the Senate in November, that's pretty bad news. If you get this judge confirmed and the GOP gains Senate seats this November, then you're in business should the Grim Reaper pay a visit to Ginsburg.
No on Kavanaugh. Let Barrett write some opinions for a few years — she’s primarily an academic, which could be worrisome. Kethledge seems more of a regular guy. Any on the list of 25 have military service, apart from JAG Corps, like Linda Grahamnesty?
Sotomayor has severe diabetes. Might be race between RBG and her.
” He delivered pizzas for Dominos and did landscaping during college.”
I did the same thing LOl but didnt end up as judge. But we both have the same animosity for illegals.
Lil Annie Menopause takes her orders from Chuckie.
That’s why Barrett is not exactly upset because Trump I think, is saving it for her. I think 1 or 2 after this, will be vacated.
Kethledge looked the most promising of the leading candidates to me, but I seem to remember hearing that President Trump said he wanted an Ivy league person this time through. Depending on the three people he interviewed after interviewing the first group of four I would say it’s either going to be one of the three or else Kavanaugh.
[ apart from JAG Corps, like Linda Grahamnesty? ]
Graham must have mistakenly read that as F*G Corps when he signed up...
Me neither. I unfollowed her on Twitter due to her crazy Never-Trump rants. I even blocked her because so many conservatives kept retweeting everything she said.
If they do not, are they really Catholics or just pretenders?
By definition, they are reformed. Reformation = Protestant
I didn’t read anything that makes me think he has an animosity towards illegals just that he applies the law as written and intended. Which itself is written to protect citizens not to intentionally do harm to the lawbreakers.
With them, and McCain and Murkowski, you can't. They're clinically insane because of their jealousy/hatred of President Trump. (JMHO) Who has to be won over are some of those dems up for re-election in November who could lose their seats if they alienate Trump supporters.
Barrett will get blown right out of the water and she would sink GOP prospects for the midterm.
McCain's irrelevant. He hasn't appeared in the Senate since December. His replacement will cast his vote in the fall.
