WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Trump administration plans to revoke guidelines that encourage considering race in the college admissions process as a way of promoting diversity, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.
The guidelines, put in place in the Obama administration in 2011 and 2016, put forth legal recommendations that Trump officials contend mislead schools to believe that legal forms of affirmative action are simpler to achieve than the law allows, the Journal reported, citing two people familiar with the plans.
Trump administration officials plan to argue the guidelines go beyond what the Supreme Court has decided on the issue.
The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled universities may use affirmative action to help minority applicants get into college. Conservatives have said such programs can hurt white people and Asian-Americans.
The Justice Department under Republican President Donald Trump has been investigating a complaint by more than 60 Asian-American organizations that say Harvard Universitys policies are discriminatory because they limit the acceptance of Asian-Americans.

I used to be a hiring manager and every damn' time some HR idiot would tell me "you know, your department isn't diverse enough, you need to hire a woman/person of color/transvestite/homosexual or something else, I'd tell them to go f themselves.
And here's the best part: I always hired the most qualified person first, period. In the example above I was at a very large Advertising Agency based out of Chicago. My staff was 14.
Two black males.
One black female.
One white female.
Remainder: White guys (college aged to my age.)
All VERY HIGHLY QUALIFIED individuals for the roles I hired them into, ALL of them went onto bigger and better roles in the agency due to their accomplishments, drive and motivation and all of them credited the opportunities I gave them to learn, grow and advance. And here I was just doing what every good manager SHOULD do:
Hire the best person for the job, period.
I am extremely proud of every single person I hired over my career. They took advantage of every opportunity provided them, worked their asses off and reaped the benefits of that.
That's how it's supposed to work, not these idiots who tell us who to hire and worse the ones who stick their hands out once they land a job and think everything's handed to them.
I hope her head explodes on live TV.

Back in the 1940s my father couldn’t get into medical school because of the “Jewish quota.” Instead, he became an osteopath, which was called the “back door” to medicine. (Luckily in California, the law was changed later, enabling DOs to become MDs.) Why so many idiot Jewish liberals (I repeat myself) want to support affirmative action is beyond me.

guidelines are not laws. guidelines are administratively established and therefore can be administratively changed or abolished. a guideline does not even carry the weight of a regulation, because, get this: they’re GUIDELINES!
