Full title: Sarah Sanders response to being kicked out of restaurant: Owner's actions 'say far more about her than about me'
Short video at link.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Saturday responded to being kicked out of a Virginia restaurant after a server's post about the incident went viral.
Sanders confirmed the incident in a tweet, and said that she always treats those she disagrees with respectfully.
Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for [President Trump] and I politely left, Sanders tweeted. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so.
Jaike Foley-Schultz, a waiter at the restaurant, posted on Facebook that he served Sanders and her family for a total of 2 minutes before the owner asked the press secretarys party to leave.
Trump critics and supporters alike took to the restaurants Facebook and Yelp pages to leave one- or five-star reviews responding to the incident. If you are a whining liberal feel free to eat here, if you are a TRUE AMERICAN stay away, one Facebook user wrote.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, a five-star Yelp review read: The best. I've heard that they serve crow to those deserving of it.
Sanders is the third Trump administration official to be recently targeted at a restaurant, in addition to Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and White House senior adviser Stephen Miller.
She should sue for discrimination.
Lexington, VA - “Likely a $hit hole city, right?”
Beg your pardon but Lexington, Vuginya is home to The Virginia Military Institute. And on occasions, THE Institute has been heard from. The only s**t thereabouts is chickens**t from the Ptomaine Domain known as the Maoist Hen.
We saw this in Nazi Germany. RAUS, JUDE. Treating people subhuman because of their beliefs.
Lexington is a 3 hour drive from the District, and culturally it's on another planet.
These people are so ate up with hate.
Local Freepers: get a group together and get MAGA hats and do a mass reservation separately. Get seated, whip out hats, do a photo or two; then leave and post bad reviews, then celebrate/ eat at say ChickFilA.
You’re wrong. Such passive behavior - like a milquetoast apology - only empowers the radical left.
They’re no long even feigning “moderation”, and neither can we.
Your style diplomacy belongs to the Bush dynasty, and is what has got us to where we are today.
How far in your face do they have to get before you “man up” and defend yourself, your country, and your integrity?
Is her facebook on private yet?
If not, does anyone have the link?
OK, let’s go to work: https://www.facebook.com/redhenlexington/
Being a university town, I can guarantee you that who ever owns this greasy spoon is not from Virginia, probably a New York transplant. It is a rude act that is alien to Virginia culture.
Why do people who don't share the values of the local people choose to live there? I can only hope that the locals boycott this restaurant. Even a 5% decrease in customers is significant in a business with razor thin margins, and often enough to scuttle the works.
Though the history of this circa 1898 structure is veiled in mysterywas it a law office? a pool hall? a grocery store? Why the chapel-like design?the story of the Red Hen restaurant is clear. Charlottesville native John Blackburn, an instructional technologist at Washington and Lee and a highly engaged environmental activist, fell in love with the building on East Washington Street shortly after moving to Lexington in 1998. When the owner put it up for lease a year or so ago, Blackburn and business partner Stephanie Wilkinson (founder and publisher of Brain, Child magazine) decided to take a leap of faith and open a restaurant.

“The eatery must be burned ... No peace, no peace”
I’m up for “NO PEAS - NO PEACE!”
“Lexington is a 3 hour drive from the District, and culturally it’s on another planet.”
So Sarah was trying to get far enough away from the DC $hit hole to have a meal, and she still managed to find a “$hithole restaurant” that far away? Are we going to hear from the Lexington “City Fathers” condemning this craven act? I’ll bet not, so Lexington still supports a “$hit hole restaurant” in it’s midst!
As a former waiter back in the day in the banquet arena so maybe I get this food thing from an old school perspective....
Local Famous Italian restaurant ( now closed) where I grew up, and sure enough when stars or politicians came through, the black and white photo of them with the owner was taken and put up on the wall (Nipsi Russell comes to mind, possibly all the Italian crooners). Black, White, D or R, Short or tall, it wasn't about any other than a good meal, being a good host to all, and that help obtain the color green.
At the banquet hall, they never took pic's, but I got to see Bill Cosby ( often, he'd cut threw the kitchen and knew all the staff until he got full of himself ), Senator Boland, Dukakis, and a host of NBA players. It was gravitas for the place, and they usually got a lot of local airplay out of it, free publicity, it was good.
This restauranteur just stepped in that flaming bag of mischief normally found on the front stoop on Halloween. Not good for business....
would it be wrong to put the address on CL as a known glory hole joint??? Would it??? Cause, ewww.
Before Trump announced he was running as a Republican the left loved him. Bill and Hillary went to his wedding.
Page down. You will no what I am talking about when you see the pictures. I think it was hacked, LOL.
first mexican fascist restaurant I ever heard of
Lexington isnt really a liberal enclave. If news of this gets out, the owner may end up with a seriously damaged customer base.
I can tell you personally that I would withhold my patronage from any restaurant that considers a customers politics.
