The United States is preparing to shelter as many as 20,000 migrant children on four American military bases, a Pentagon spokesman said on Thursday, as federal officials struggled to carry out President Trumps order to keep immigrant families together after they are apprehended at the border.
The 20,000 beds at bases in Texas and Arkansas would house unaccompanied alien children, said a Pentagon spokesman, Lt. Col. Michael Andrews, although other federal agencies provided conflicting explanations about how the shelters would be used and who would be housed there. There were reports of widespread confusion on the border.

It might be a learning opportunity to have student dorms in our liberal universities become “sanctuary” domiciles for illegal border crossing families. And let these “undocumented” immigrants live with the students (many members of their large families per room). The student families and faculty should bear all the expenses involved in this experiment. These student liberals and their professors would likely be delighted to have them aboard.
House them on trains and buses headed back to Mexico.
That is a great idea: “Sponsor a Family” program.
As the saying goes “put your money where your mouth is.”
That works for me. Of course that’s not the policy they have chosen to adopt. There should be no ability to show up at the border and demand asylum.
You should have to go to an embassy or a consulate.
Showing up at the border should get you a swift kick on the butt as you are sent packing back into the country you’re trying to enter from.
We are being jobbed!
That works for me.
When I made that comment, I’m simply addressing how our people have chosen to interpret the laws on the books now.
I doubt any laws sanctioned what is happening. I may be wrong on that. Sure doesn’t make sense.
As long as it complies with the law.
If our laws state they can apply at the border and get a hearing, then our agents have to comply.
I honestly don’t know what the exact wording is covering this. I don’t have to agree with it, even if it does justify how these cases are being handled.
We are being gamed.
As long as it complies with the law.
Which we get to make.
L
That'd scare the crap out of 'em.
Sure, but then we know who is writing them too.
We have big enough loop-holes placed in our laws so that a Mac Truck could drive through.
The foreign aide we send to these countries should be halted
House ‘em in the FEMA camps and transport them in ‘black helicopters’. Freak out the lefties and give them heart attacks.
When pResident Carter took in all the, ‘Boat People’ from Cuba (criminals and mental patients!) some of them ended up in little old Fort McCoy, in the north woods of Wisconsin.
I, personally, laid a lot of concertina wire around the barracks where they would be held.
A few weeks after they arrived, a civilian co-worker was stabbed to death, in front of her young daughter, by one of those savages.
So, Sure! Let them all in! *SPIT*
They are either Illegal or Legal Immigrants!
“House them on trains and buses headed back to Mexico.”
You absolutely have the right answer.
They don’t need to separate the adults from the children, just send them all back. And build the wall ASAP.
Too bad our homeless and homeless veterans can’t get three meals a day, medical and dental attention, a safe, cool place to sleep and some counseling. I guess I’m a dreamer.
Illegal trespassers come first.
They are border jumpers. Not any kind of “immigrants”.
This is beyond stupid. Give the children back to their parents and deport them. What’s so hard about that?
Those numbers are proof that the Azteks are overwhelming our system and it is time to put the military on the border and turn them all back. No more screwing around with letting them get court hearings. Just give them an ICE officer, who will declare them guilty, before throwing them out.
