Trump: 'We're Not Going to Give Any More Aid' to Countries That Send Illegal Immigrants to U.S.

(CNSNews.com) - "Let's do the right thing," President Trump told a gathering in Washington on Tuesday. He was speaking about legislation to stop unchecked illegal immigration.

But Democrats on Tuesday flatly refused to support legislation, saying it's unnecessary when President Trump could simply adopt a different "policy." Trump indicated that he may adopt a new policy -- one that denies financial aid to countries that send their people fleeing north.

"We have a chance. We want to solve this problem, we want to solve family separation, I don't want children taken away from parents," Trump said.

And when you prosecute the parents for coming in illegally, which should happen, you have to take the children away. Now we don't have to prosecute them, but then we're not prosecuting them for coming in illegally. That's not good.

We want to end the border crisis by finally giving us the legal authorities and the resources to detain and remove illegal immigrant families altogether and bring them back to their country. We have to bring them back to their country.

Now think of all that aid that we give some of these countries, hundreds of millions of dollars we give to some of these countries, and they send them up.

Well I'm going to go, very shortly, for authorization that when countries abuse us by sending their people up, not their best, we're not going to give anymore aid to those countries. Why the hell should we? Why should we?..."

Just bring them in and hold them in motels and feed them until their status as asylum seekers can be verified. If verified then process them. If unverified after 6 months ship the whole family home. Charge all the expenses to the foreign aide account of their home country. This procedure will incentivize their country of origin to do something since they will not be getting the US funding that goes to the asylum seekers (to line their pockets in many cases).

So very true. Plus, many of these people are seeking asylum. Why should we send money to nations that are so corrupt and dysfunctional that their own citizens are asking for asylum?

If they do get over then arrest them, and send them back with in hours to the country they left. After a couple of attempts they will be pissed off making the journey, and get word to others it is not worth it.

Short sighted. In the first place, aid to countries like Guatemala and Honduras has already been slashed 90% from the Obama years. Making things worse down there will only drive more people to travel north and take their chances getting into the U.S. Money saved down there will only be spent on the border many times over.

How would these countries comply? Would they emulate the Iron Curtain and build walls and border posts with guns facing in and not out.And why would any nation send us their best? If blocking wire transfers is possible then we should do that,if building a wall is possible, do that, but telling govts that they have to keep their people from leaving the country for the US, that’s ridiculous.

Terminate the (illegal) welfare state in any/all forms/shapes/sizes/matters/etc.

   1. Secure the border in a transparently verifiable way;

   2. End the anchor-baby interpretation of the 14th Amendment;

   3. Enforce E-Verify without exception and with severe penalties;

   4. End chain migration. Entry per individual qualifications, not family ties;

   5. Deportation upon contact with any law enforcement agency - federal, state, or local;

   6. No government benefits beyond critical emergency care (and that ought to be billed back to the home government);

   7. No "Path to Citizenship" - EVER - for anyone who has entered the US illegally.

Any measure which does not accomplish these things is unacceptable. It is de facto amnesty. And it will inevitably, ineluctably encourage millions and millions more illegal entries.

You are exactly right. It is a stretch by any standard. Trump signed the omnibus bill that expressly prohibited new wall. It allowed only repairs. It was a total disaster. But he has promised unequivocally to close down the government in September if he doesn’t get all the wall. He is on tape!! Even though that is before the midterm. We don’t care. The wall is now over due and we won’t tolerate any further delay. We voted for the wall. We won . We want our wall,. Not “border security” nonsense!! We want a big beautiful giant physical wall. The omnibus bill should never have been signed. Never.

Yes, there needs to be a check on remittances as well as the general aid to these countries. Remittances over a certain dollar should have automatic withholding. California already does this, so do some others. It should be required of any money transfer from US to overseas recipient. Let them then file a tax return to show show legal source of funds, pay taxes, etc.
