The Supreme Court has ruled on the Masterpiece Cake case and on the surface, it would appear to be a loss for L.G.B.T.Q. Americans. The justices ruled 7 to 2 that the Colorado Civil Rights Commission violated the religious freedom of a baker, Jack Phillips, when it sanctioned him for refusing to make a wedding cake for a gay couple, Charlie Craig and David Mullins, in 2012.
The commissions hostility was inconsistent with the First Amendments guarantee that our laws be applied in a manner that is neutral toward religion, Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote for the majority.

Yeah, I’m always surprised by the voices of sanity and reason which often pop up in the Slimes comments. I add mine on occasion.
The author is a he.....born James Boylan. Once married with two children
Body dysmorphia leads to all kinds of insanity
OMG can you imagine what kind of idiocy would have become ‘rights’ to these gender-bender demons if the ERA had passed?
——sexual orientation or gender identity.——
Are delusions developed to promote rights where none are in order.
There is no sexual orientation or gender identity. Both are false mental concepts
How about people who want to be free to be cannibals, or people who want to be suicide bombers?
Face it, evil exists and does not respect good or freedom.
Homosexuality is about lust, not genetics.
A business cannot decide what is appropriate to order on their product, but the state can decide what is appropriate to order on their vanity license plate?
The 1st Amendment is about “FREEDOM OF CHOICE”. It is NOT a about compulsion.
YOU are free to speak but I am not REQUIRED to listen.
I, too, am free to speak but YOU may ignore me.
We are FREE to assemble, or CHOOSE not to.
We are FREE to be RELIGIOUS, or CHOOSE not to be.
We are FREE to heed the MEDIA, or CHOOSE not to.
It appears that those who shout the loudest the the “FREEDOM TO CHOOSE” are the ones most vocal against it, except in “one particular choice.”
Faggies keep pushing. Normals are just about ready to put you back in the closet.
I confess I do look at their Science pages occasionally.
Perhaps that is irrelevant. Personally, I may think some behaviors are vile, while others may think they are fine- the lens we look at others through is based on several non-legal but philosophical or moral filters. Certainly, society agrees that murder is unlawful, immoral and not permissible, but then there is the nightmare of abortion.... Lawful but not moral ( at least through the lens i use).
Homosexual behavior may be lawful, but many will argue that is it immoral and I would agree, however, I feel the same way about sexuality outside of marriage- so how many enemies would I make on that point? Not saying I am a perfect example of morality- certainly not. However, the standard many use is not their own history, but that of a standard, a more’ if you will, then one i choose to agree with is not the common one we see being lived all around us and even often by us..... Thank Heavens for the substitutionary provision for me by Jesus the Christ, but then many will disagree about that too...
Live peaceably among men as much as possible, Jesus.
“Is that the same shall not be abridged used in the 2nd Amendment?”
Close, but no cigar. The word is “infringed!” And it has no similarity to “abridged!!!!!!!!”
“”Just reword the ERA adding gender orientation and gender identity. “”
We don’t have an Equal Rights Amendment - thank goodness! It was never ratified by all the states.
Spot on and I think it is high time we re-discover freedom and liberty in our nation. The part that made my head hurt from the editorial was the line:
“We lose when our rights are considered debatable.”
And my right to own a weapon of self-defense of my choosing, ma’am? Why is it that our right to have an inanimate object in our possession for our own peace of mind is and has been “considered debatable”?
My main issue with “progressives” is the hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty... If I don’t want to do business with sexual or gender weirdos for ANY reason, whether high minded and pure, sincere religious conviction or a baser reason of not wanting to deal with the “yuck” factor, I should have the freedom to bear the economic cost of declining business from a particular source.
That right, along with my right to own a firearm, are certainly not debatable in my book.
Jesus would not want buggery in our Army.
Well, this is a start. Now the left has admitted that the constitution exists and it matters. Even if they don’t like it. Obama spent the last 8 years acting like we had no constitution.
“”God know what abuses would have occurred under its provisions and (mis)interpretations to cover everything from gays to people who think theyre magpies.””
It was bad enough when it WAS proposed but never ratified by the states. Can you imagine what it would look like today if one was to be written? Scary!
Yep. Im perfectly willing to live and let live with others who would make very different choices from the ones I make so long as they are not directly physically harming others (yes I deliberately defined that very strictly).
Just do not try to use the power of government to take away my choices or to force me to choose what you would choose. I will do the same for you.
Thats it. I want nothing. I ask for nothing. I dont want to be protected. Just leave me alone.
The LGBTQIDIOTs (those who make their private lives a public spectacle and demand our approval) disgust me. Even ignoring the perversion, the sin, the mental illness, and the fact that human anatomy is not designed to work with their choice, how can anyone take “pride” in voluntarily winning a Darwin Award? Throw in the Left’s totalitarian impulses, and they are enemies of all decent people.
......Justice Kennedy said Colorado cannot force bakers to make cakes celebrating a gay marriage when it allows
other bakers not to make cakes criticizing homosexuality.
States cannot privilege some views over others........Kennedy wrote.
That kind of common sense logic is long overdue.
