Cheers for Darren Phillips, former Marine and member of the Utah Army National Guard! The story is worth following the link.
As for Dustin, what could have he have been victimized by? What outside influence forced him try to indulge in the popular western state practice of exporting marijuana and associated drugs to other states?
Did any of his fathers beat his mother? Did he have enough of his demographic's pit bull deities to console him? How many of his fathers beat his mother's cats? Did his L(l)ibertarian friends not give him enough same-sex support or stimulation? Did he not get enough comfort food or relaxation?
Important questions in some circles...

Yes, because it was obviously society’s fault.
Here’s another prime candidate for early release, and that’s what gripes me about early release.
This guy will be listed as a speeder, and resisting arrest.
As such he’ll look like a harmless guy, no big deal, as Jerry Brown or some other ass hat let him go early.

He’s in Utah. Jerry Brown has no say.

Yes, Utah. Speaking of which, I wonder what kind of welcome he’ll receive from Mormon judicial folks and their constituents. ;-)

Poor Dustin...
He’s lucky Mr. Phillips came by to choke him out.
This is what drugs does to a once civil society.

True. It was a Californian though. Whether this guy or another Brown will be to the rescue of people caught red-handed.

70 pounds of weed, cocaine, and assaulting an officer in Wyoming—the perp might as well hang himself now.

Of course the folks who say it cannot be society’s fault also rail in the next breath at all the horrible influences. One might eschew sophomoric philosophy of the excluded middle.

Hey Doper Dustin, consider yourself lucky. At around twice your age, I would have had to shoot you due to a soon to be replaced shoulder socket.
Most likely, I would have put the 380 Ruger up against your knee pointing away from the cop and pulled the trigger. Ouch!....that would have really, really hurt.

"Actually, it happened near Green River, Wyoming."
Thanks! I didn't catch that earlier and erroneously assumed that it was Utah.
So, Wyoming, yes. He might see a tough judicial jurisdiction there, indeed.

Robert Mueller is a former Marine. Those who served honorably and have not done anything disgraceful or dishonorable after getting out can rightfully call themselves former Marines. Mueller is an ex-Marine. He is not an honorable man.

He might see a tough judicial jurisdiction there, indeed. Not when it comes to speeding. Back in the day when the Federales attempted to enforce a 55 mph nationwide speed limit with the threat of withholding highway funds, Wyoming troopers handed out a lot of $5 speeding tickets. Yes, five bucks.
