Its the sort of thing that drives animal-rights advocates and other elite bunny-hugging liberals wild, to the delight of politically incorrect red-blooded MAGA-men. As NBC News reports, the Trump administration is bringing back savage hunting techniques to federal lands in Alaska:
The Trump administration is moving to reverse Obama-era rules barring hunters on some public lands in Alaska from baiting brown bears with bacon and doughnuts and using spotlights to shoot mother black bears and cubs hibernating in their dens.
There are a lot of humans, much less bears, who cant resist bacon and doughnuts. But before you can say Sarah Palin, theres more:
Under the proposed changes, hunters would also be allowed to hunt black bears with dogs, kill wolves and pups in their dens, and use motor boats to shoot swimming caribou.
These and other hunting methods - condemned as cruel by wildlife protection advocates - were outlawed on federal lands in 2015. That was, of course, under President Obama, who hated Real Americans.

You evidently haven’t hunted very much....
You don’t hunt “for sport” anyway...You eat what you hunt....
If New York Magazine want to know whar real cruelty is, they need to go to a slaughter house...
Yeah, and cubs in the den would be the size of a walnut.
Thanks....sounds like fun
Nah, Yogi is smarter than the average bear and only goes after picnic baskets. :^)
Catahoula Leopard hounds are good too.
Inwouldnt mond if all of these things were banned.
Spoken like a true Leftist.

Please baiting animals isnt sport.
And you dont want abortion banned? whos the leftist now.
Hunting over bait is not cruel but it is unsportsmanlike, for certain, where we were raised in Southern Illinois and Missouri you would be teased mercilessly if it became known you hunted over bait and you’d probably get a visit from the warden, but that was deer hunting as bear had not yet repopulated the hills. On the other hand, in Alaska life can be harsh and hunting is often much more than just a sport and a lot of people subsist on it. When it comes to survival there is nothing wrong with being unsportsmanlike so long as there is no risk of exterminating a species.
Hunting caribou [and moose] from boats isn’t new.... indigenous people have done it for ages. The motor’s new, but the principle is the same.
It’s really not entirely the federal government’s business, even on Federal land within states- there should be some local control over local resources regardless of who owns the land, certainly if states have a say over private individuals who own land within their borders, why should the Federal government landowner be exempted when their population of ‘nuisance animals’ cross borders onto local property to prey on livestock or desirable wildlife on adjacent land?
“Wah, wah, wah,” bleats Ed Kilgore, as he wets himself.
Good...I plan to visit there soon...the less of these beasts the better.
I don’t like the idea of shooting hibernating bears, but I would need to understand the reason why people did so before implementing some feel-good, 0bama-esque ban on the activity.
Advanced warning would spring into my mind.
Maybe bears come out after hibernating to eat people.
It’s about wildlife management, not just sport.
I’m not a Peta sympathisers unless it’s People eating tasty animals but I’m not into that thing of easy kills. The world is not like it was in the early 1890 and before. I think today Hunting is for sportsman who want to use 100% skill. What skill is involved in laying out bacon and then waiting in a tree to shoot a bear?
I would limit hunting to single shot muzzle loaded rifles with a back up hand loaded revolver. Better yet, allow the hunting every other year with guns and every other year with compound bows and a backup revolver. limit tags to 1 every 2 years unless the BLM wants otherwise. Hunting with dogs is okay in my book. Man has been hunting with dogs long before guns were invented.
Trump hasn’t disappointed me yet, but this comes close.
“They are going to murder Yogi and BooBoo!”
Incorrect state there, Bruddar.
I don’t think Jellystone Park is in Alaska...
But it’s A-OK to chop up unborn babies and siphon the pieces out of their mothers’ wombs, right snowflakes?
Please baiting animals isnt sport.
How would you know? Youve never done it.
And you dont want abortion banned?
Actually I do want it banned.
whos the leftist now.?
Still you.
