New York Democrat Linda Rosenthal introduced legislation to ban shooting sports from New York schools Friday, claiming the sports “spread gun culture.”
If the legislation is passed, high school shooting teams, including air rifle and even archery clubs, would be disbanded, Time magazine reported on Thursday. These programs can lead to violence, Rosenthal claimed, citing the Parkland shooter’s involvement in the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program before executing his mass killing.
“Schools should not be supporting the spread of gun culture in society,” Rosenthal told reporters. “If parents want their children to have shooting instruction, there are opportunities that have nothing to do with the school.”

I hate to burst bubbles but unless we could create something that could shoot Satan, which would pose a pickle because we are fonder of him than we think, we would not at all have anything perfect. As though the weapon we made couldn’t be used by anti-sniper snipers.

In the late 50’s my Brother took his .22 Rifle to School twice a week because he was in the Shooting Club.
The School had a Gun Range in the Basement.

Yep, I was in HS in the 1970s grauated 1979 and we had them. Also archery. I was also in the BOY scouts before male and female gender identity became outlawed by leftist decree
Mid 60’s in Albuquerque, there was always a bunch of rifles in pick up trucks in my high school parking lot. Never knew of one being stolen either.
I took a WWII Japanese sword to show and tell in the 2nd grade.
