I took a WWII Japanese sword to show and tell in the 2nd grade.
Some Freeper says he brought in a German MG 42 machine gun.
No chiluns was harmed.
Passing around that Jap sword, taken in the Jungles of Burma, The kids hot sweaty hands soon became a ruddy brown color.
We thought it was rust at first, NO! it was 20 something year old coagulated blood!
Best show and tell ever!

In 1958 my very lib 6th grade school teacher brought in a trawl of Nazi cutlery her hubby found under the porch stoop of the house they lived in in Berlin circa 1950 when he was working for the occupation authority. No ome was traumatized.
