Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz a Democratic candidate for governor and a fixture in state and local politics for nearly a quarter-century died Thursday morning of cardiac arrest, officials said.
Kamenetz, 60, was awakened by chest pains around 2 a.m. Thursday, county officials said. Kamenetz and his wife, Jill, drove less than two miles from their Owings Mills home to the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company where the county executive called 911 from the parking lot.
Chestnut Ridge medical personnel escorted Kamenetz and his wife into the station. As Kamenetz was explaining his symptoms, he lost consciousness. Fire station personnel began CPR and used a defibrillator on him three times to restore a pulse before medics arrived.

And the orders came from................. I mean the sudden incident.
Hillary has an alibi — she’s in New Zealand.
He was running in the primary for Governor. Several Democrats are trying to replace Larry Hogan, the current Republican Governor.
Kamenetz was probably the most well known candidate.
He came off good on TV but was a typical liberal politician. Sad for his family. Even political opponents said he was very personable.
Hillary never fires the shots herself. She has hired hands.
Conveniently trying to establish an alibi.
Why didn’t they call 911??
Why didnt they call 911??
...
May not have made a difference, but that’s what should have been done.
From the article, it may have been a “take me to the Hospital” then on the way, realized it was more serious and called 911
Recent studies have shown that in some traumas, grab and go is more effective that waiting for ambulance to arrive.
Why not just call 911 in the first place
911 is a joke.
Maybe in your neighborhood.
Back in December, I made one of those decisions, that worked out great. I was able to drive across town to Mayo for the best Neurologists in the country.
I made it, maybe lucky, but the treatment I would have got at the other hospitals would have been subpar.
Everyday we make decisions that we have to live with the rest of our lives. Sometimes we don’t know it’s our last.
He went to the fire station
Plus you can have the ambulance take you to the hospital your doc is at
I had an attack 8 months ago, my wife called 911, I recovered fully.
Cardio doctor on duty said many people who drove themselves in had a very different outcome.
I believe it, the EMS guys worked like hell as we sped at 100 miles per hour for 20 miles to the ER.
“911 is a joke. “
If democrat run government has anything to do with it.
A democrat? Pffft.
There was an article recently on the internet exposing the Democrat machine in I think Colorado trying to persuade a moderate Democrat to get out of the 2018 primary race. The prog wing of the party was trying to fix the primary so their favored candidate would get the nomination. The guy who was doing the arm twisting in that case was none other than Steny Hoyer. There was a recording of the conversation. It’s not too far-fetched to wonder if maybe Kamenetz was under the same pressure but—knowing published details about his personality—he may have told the arm twister, whoever it was, to stuff it. Did he and his wife by chance go out to dinner the night before? Not too many details in the article except for the decision made to head to the fire department instead of the hospital.
Why didn’t she (1) call 911 herself or (2) take him to the hospital herself?
In these sprawling Baltimore County (not city) suburban towns with lots of little cul-de-sacs, streets that do not go through and stupidly duplicative place names, it's faster to go to the EMTs than to ask them to find your house.
It was probably too late. He was ill in his sleep.
