Connecticuts legislature has passed a bill that would give the states Electoral College votes to the presidential candidate who wins the popular vote nationally.
The state Senate voted 21-14 on Saturday to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, which includes 10 states and the District of Columbia. The state House passed the measure last week, 77 to 73.

If the government of Connecticut vitiates the Connecticut voters' selections for President and Vice President, and instead substitutes the voters' selections from other States, then the State is NOT being given a Republican form of government.
It is therefore incumbent upon the United States to overrule this violation of the U. S. Constitution, and guarantee Connecticut a true Republican form of government.
Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress
If every state passed this same law, every election would be a 100% electoral college landslide. In other words, the electoral college would be rendered meaningless, which is probably the goal of this sort of legislation. It is an effort to subvert the Constitution via the back door.
Are you sure?
Back what you post with research please.
2: Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.
Imagine going to popular vote and having a recount. How long did it take to sort out Florida?

I foresee Trump winning both the popular and electoral votes in 2020. I will be glad to see Connecticut give their electoral votes to Trump
CT is trusting that voter fraud in a couple California counties will put the Dems over the edge every year.
From what I remember of 2000 things would have come down to where the FL Legislature would direct the EVs to be awarded. So I would assume this will be US Constitutional.
However, I am surprised this does not require a state constitutional amendment.
When Trump wins the national popular vote in 2020 and the Kennedy Drooler (or whatever their rigged choice will be) wins CT, that will make even more liberal heads explode!
This will basically encourage and reward various states for allowing illegals to vote.
Watch this get locked up en route to the Supreme Court and Connecticut losing all their electoral votes while it's being deliberated.
I smell violation here.
Agreed. It doesnt sound like it would pass constitutional muster.
When was the last time that Connecticut picked a Republican POTUS candidate?
I hear there is a TAX EXODUS happening from Connecticut and other blue states making a beeline to red states....WELL, to be perfectly honest I say this with lots of love ...STAY THE HELL OUT OF TEXAS!! We don’t need your liberal agenda here!! YOU ARE NOT WELCOMED..Colorado is a prime example of what happens when you open the door to these cancerous parasites! They poison everything they touch! The only folks we roll out the welcome mat for is to our conservative folk!!
Also, Art I Sect 10: “No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation”
Typical LIB idiots...typical...pathetic, as usual.
