(Breaking) N.Korea States Conditions; Threatens to Walk from Talks (from Korean sources)
SBS-TV South Korea and other Korean/Japanese news sources ^ | 6 May 2018 | SBS-TV South Korea original Korean

Summary synopsis of Korean language version (link above):

North Korea through the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) today stated that the barely one week old "Panmunjom Agreement" between Kim Jong Un and Moon Jae In is falling victim to "misinterpretation" by the United States and threatened the talks between Kim and Trump will go nowhere and "things will return to zero" if the following happens: a) there is no loosening of economic sanctions currently on North Korea even prior to denuclearization; b) there is any pressure on them in the area of human rights.

KCNA has, in fact, carried it, the official voice of the North Korean regime, stating also Kim Jong Un is in firm control of the talks from the DPRK side; further this statement is being relayed in major Japanese conservative daily "Sankei" Shimbun today in Japanese:

I see AP and CBS carrying it in the US as well.

The NORKs need this far more than we do. Stick to your guns and let the ROKs play “good cop.”

I wonder how long after the State department started working with North Korea on arrangements for the heads of state meeting that these ‘preconditions’ started percolating. Perhaps I’m just a bit jaded, but it would not surprise me in the slightest if the changes were suggested by Foggy Bottom.

I wouldn’t be much honored by something they gave to Yassir Arafat. I could take it or leave it.

Surprise surprise....maybe they want Kerry as the lead negotiator and they would keep their nukes and get billions too... The Nobel peace prize is a booby prize considering who has received it in the past...who cares if djt gets it or not. I want to get the nukes out of norklandia....whatever happens next is of much less concern. Don’t loosen sanctions...TIGHTEN them!

NK trying to save face and appear in control while moving forward. It is just pride and hopefully he won’t screw himself and his country over in the process.

I hope you all are safe.

Trump has been very cautious in his public statements.

Agreed. To succeed, Trump will have to be offering something attractive to the NK senior military leaders. Right now, they are signalling not interested.

Trumps challenge is to put together a package that doesn’t unite the two Koreas in their animosity toward Japan, blowing up the alliance against China.

It can be done, given the Norths reservoir of rare earth minerals and the South’s manufacturing prowess.

No concessions and no negotiations without proof of dismantlement. Food, water treatment technology, and medicine is all they will get to start with. Following this, depending upon inspections and weapon destruction, we will talk about returning Japan’s kidnapped citizens. Only after a joint U.S./U.N./S.Korean inspection program throughout all sites that verifies weapon technology destruction will we talk about electricity and other issues they suffer from.

The Japanese are really counting on Trump to deal with their abducted citizens and I hope Trump includes that issue as part of any “deals” as I cannot imagine the horror of being imprisoned in that country for those abducted and their families never knowing what happened to them. I feel we should include the concentration camps where they brutalize and murder people. This monstrous regime must be pressured to end it’s massive human rights abuses.

Scott Adams predicted all this; that there would be a walk away or a threatened walk away.

Including some here. Some of whom aid he was the BEST foreign policy president in history.

Could end up that way. I dont like but i like him a lot.

Just that the herd mentality here sometimes, to FORGET what Ronald Reagan accomplished and how many HUNDREDS of millions he freed, scares me.

Already putting Trump above Reagan is short sighted, ungrateful and expected from a group with a lower IQ.

Not here.

For Trump, the Nobel Peace prize is a blemish on his record.

It puts him in league with recent laureates Barack Obama, Yasser Arafat, Jimmy Carter and Al Gore

I actually predicted this two weeks ago. This is about bribes. This little butcher is a psychopathic killer. His people are totally expendable. 1 year ago this week he had Otto Wermbier beaten to death and sent him hone dead. Trump is to be commended and we could not have a better realist as president but this is so simple to see, Kim wants more bribes like were paid by Clinton and bush and obozo. It is desperately important that trump NOT go unless a deal is already SIGNED!! He knows this. They will announce a date and place and postpone it for “further negotiations”. This will go on for years. It is my form belief that kim is playing games. The three Korean American prisoners will require a bribe paid to Kim. I dont think Trump will pay bribes to that bastard.
