Marx's birthday should be a global day of mourning. Alas it is not. Therefore, I am posting this classic bit (as played at the Hollywood Bowl) to dishonor this stain on the planet.

"Let's see if Marx can put some life in this German attack"...funny stuff.
It's curious that John Cleese also mentions Wittgenstein when scolding Manuel about his Siberian hamster. If you listen carefully to Python the Oxford/Cambridge pedigree shines through.

I've always thought the "Cheese Shop" sketch was a satire on the communist phenomenon whereby shops were open for business that had absolutely no goods to sell. Maybe I'm giving them too much credit, but it really comes across that way!

In my humble opinion it is worth reading or rather studying both the Das Kapital and the MeinKamppf. After reading both of them I really disagree with both. The MK is easier to disagree with as it reads like the deranged writings of a madman along with quite a few errors
The DK on the other hand is very erudite, very convincing and in the context of the 1850s gave comfort against the aristocratic elites. however it utterly forgets about human nature and its proposed solution is worse than the problem.

I agree.
Marx did not understand what money is/was. He thought of it as a fixed pie and that if you have a billion dollars I might not have enough. With modern, convertible currencies (paper money) The fact that you are a billionaire no longer means I cannot have enough. That was true in the middle-ages but no longer is true.
Marx theory also explains everything and is irrefutable (According to Marx) because it can explain the whole of history and absolutely predict the future. The philosopher of science, Karl Popper destroyed communism with the maxim, “Any theory that explains everything actually explains nothing.” In explaining everything Marx’s theory proves its falsity.
