Attorney General Jeff Sessions recently told the White House he might have to leave his job if President Trump fired his deputy, Rod J. Rosenstein, who oversees the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, according to people familiar with the exchange.
Sessions made his position known in a phone call to White House counsel Donald McGahn last weekend, as Trumps fury at Rosenstein peaked after the deputy attorney general approved the FBIs raid April 9 on the presidents personal attorney Michael Cohen.

You have an interesting history. I used to be a huge Sessions fan. But things changed after he got the AG position. Trump has said multiple times that if Sessions had told him he planned to recuse himself, he, Trump, would have picked a different AG.
Instead Sessions turned the DOJ over to one of the anti-Trump illegal FISA warrant signers. The purpose of the illegal FISA warrants was to destroy Trump and ensure a Hillary victory. So in a very real sense Sessions has boxed Trump in with a Trump-hating AG. [Sessions having recused himself from everything of any importance, Rosenstein is in fact the acting AG.]
What Sessions has done to Trump is unconscionable. Trump has zero allies in the Senate and a bare handful in the House. He desperately needs a strong, loyal and aggressive AG. Far from being that, Sessions has gone so far as to saddle Trump with a Hillary supporting Deep Stater. Sessions is a disgrace.
The source of this story is unnamed and it's from the WaPo, yet people tend to think it's true. There are reasons for that.
Rosenstein has been stonewalling Congress yet Sessions still approves of Rosenstein.
Rosenstein signed off on the raid of Trump's lawyer's office, yet Seesions still approves of Rosenstein.
We find out in January that Rosenstein signed off on a bogus FISA warrant application, yet Jeff Sessions takes Rosenstein out to dinner.
I could go on.
Yes. Good question. I guess those claims that Sleepy Jeff was playing some sneaky long game were the obvious deep state misinformation they always appeared to be.
Yup, saw that note too on the Rep. criminal referal letter, requesting that Rosenstein should be recused.
Doesn't sound like the Reps. trust Sessions to make sure that Rosenstein is recused (or better yet fired).
If I were them, I’d keep my cards close to my chest.
Don’t let the door bump you in the Arse , on your way out , Jeffy
Many compare working for the government versus private industry. One of the blatant differences is that in the private world, you give an ultimatum like that and you’re checking Monster, Inc.
No department head would put up with that kind of threat.
The first word "Here" refers to the article. Common way to respond.
The only thing needing correction is your unnecessary "correction"
Here I'll do it for you:
Correction:
Here we have the Washington Post, with unnamed sources, claiming the Attorney General is threatening to quit his job if the President fires his underling, Rosenstein, ...
Glad you have discovered that the WP is one of the fake news oulets.
Most of us have known that for a long time, and post accordingly.
Get rid of the swamp Sessions then,
Are you Sessions wife? His brother? In any case, you have your head so far up his ahole you see daylight and breathe fresh air.
Just saying.
One way or another it’s looking like Sessions departure is imminent.
My hunch is this is about to get real interesting in regards to Sessions.
Well, gee, thanks for your opinion, but oviously you’ve mistaken me for someone who gives a $hit what you think. Just saying.
Why would I care? You make a slug seem sentient. Just saying.
I guess you don’t believe in the First Amendment, or my right to my own opinion, since you’re the one attacking me. I’ve been here for almost 21 years. If you don’t like what I say, that’s your problem. I’m entitled to say what I want, even if you or anyone else disagrees.
IIRC, Rudy is on record as not wanting the job.
From Dec 9, 2016:
For 8 years he was considered a Champion for the Right and the Conservative Cause. I guess that’s an easy thing to do when you know your statements, bills, votes and proposed legislation mean absolutely nothing. Whether it be the fact that Schumer wouldn’t allow it, obama wouldn’t sign it, or his fellow GOPe/RINO/Dem with an R After Their Name weren’t going to support anything, anyway.
He’s a fraud. Proving himself to be just like all the rest. Lie to get the position, start cashing checks to do nothing and then coast to retirement while making money off your donors, Wall St and special interests.
Oh no you didn’t go all SJW on me and pull a first amendment. Sign of a weak mind. I am not government. Constitutional first amendment protection is limited to that. Private parties can call you out as a moron with no consequence. 21 years or not, opinions are like aholes. Everyone has one and they mostly stink. Doesn’t mean I can stuff a cork in yours, but I am allowed to point out the stank. Your opinion is stanky and smells of pachoili and weed.
#8. Re “Suddenly this becomes clear as a bell”.
Well, we have a Clapper to go with that bell, cracked or not.
CLUNK!, CLUNK, CLUNK!
And I’m allowed to point out that you’re opinion is just that...your opinion. If you feel like attacking me, go ahead. I’ve been attacked, and been called worse things by better people. You can grumble and grex all you want, since you seem intent on attacking me. I dealt with murderers, rapists and robbers in my 25 year career. You think you’re intimidating me? You’re just pigeon $hit compared to them. Just another blowhard. One thing I learned about blowhards is that they always put on a show when they have an audience, but get them alone, and they’d whine like a little girl. Enjoy your fun at your own expense.
Proof positive that Jeff Sessions is in way over his head.
