Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly losing support amongst his peers in Silicon Valley following Facebooks latest user data scandal. Bloomberg reports that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been left with few defenders in Silicon Valley following his companys latest user data scandal. Amongst Zuckerbergs biggest critics in the tech industry is Apple CEO Tim Cook, Teslas Elon Musk and Salesforce.coms Marc Benioff, while many other Silicon Valley firms have fallen silent in the wake of the Facebook user data scandal, a stark contrast to how tech firms usually react when one of their own is attacked.
When other major tech brands have been questioned by the government which Mark Zuckerberg very likely will be as he has been called to testify before Congress twice Silicon Valley companies have rallied behind those attacked, such as when Apple fought with the FBI to protect the unlocking of an encrypted iPhone belonging to the San Bernardino terrorist. Gennie Gebhart, a researcher at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, stated Protecting privacy is good for business now. Users are looking for other big tech personalities like Tim Cook, like Elon Musk, to be reassured that theyre not doing what Facebook did.
Cook has particularly taken issue with Facebook following their most recent scandal stating that he wouldnt be in this situation if he were Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg gave a lengthy response to Cook saying I find that argument that if youre not paying, that somehow we cant care about you to be extremely glib and not at all aligned with the truth.

Cigarettes cause cancer.
Facebook is cancer.
The privacy toothpaste is out of the tube.
NSA and their foreign counterparts have it all.
Everything else is just posturing and background noise.
If this tomfoolery keeps up I may just have to delete my fake account.
Oooh, that’s gonna leave a burn mark on Mark.
I really don’t get it. I never signed up for FB because I knew it’s entire business model was to sell personal data to anybody willing to pay Suckerburg’s asking price. What has changed, other than the fact it was discovered that the data had been purchased on behalf of a Republican’s campaign?
That’s the problem with being on the Left, Mark. When they turn on you, they turn with a vengeance.
Go watch Edward Scissorhands, Zuckie
you’re all being suckered so easily
if apple and tesla hate something or someone, it means it must not be hard left enough.
Zuckerburgh is not a Conservative by an stretch but he is MUCH MORE open to different ideas than the other leftists out there
This one is easy to figure out
FWIW, I use FB, but am careful about what I comment on, who my “friends” are, which links I click, and to not use it for research. But Google??? No way. Why is Google getting off the hook? And why is Amazon getting off the hook, with the Alexa spy machine?
If I was one of those tech innovators, I’d be working feverishly on the next Facebook. There has to be someone who could come up with a successful way to provide a social network that doesn’t become filled with garbage, and doesn’t violate the privacy rights of the users.
Maybe this empire is about to be chopped up into multiple fiefdoms. That had already started in a project-based way anyway. I recall there used to only be one phone company, then the hammer of Thor smashed it all asunder, market-wise.
Mark Z. won’t worry. He’s already got his many billion.
You just hit on why it’s an issue. It was used by Republicans.
Zuck: deer in the headlights.
Just telling my brother that, the deployables have taken over Facebook.. lol....
Any former, or present, tech company employee, knowing the capabilities, vulnerabilities, and potential staffing/public encroachments on privacy, would know better than to put his/her private life information and scheduling details "out there" in the cyber world.
One might have expected that those who consider themselves to be "smart and informed," much less "educated" and "tech savvy," would have figured out by now that private information would be subject to being exposed.
No whining about it now! Besides, "facebook" is just the newest form of gossiping over the fence or snooping on the party line.
Anybody who didn’t know FB, and others, were/are selling your personal data, wasn’t paying attention, wasn’t old enough to know better or was just plain stupid..........
If they give you the software free, and you don’t know how they make any money selling a product, you are it...................
Absolutely true. Scary people. In the meantime, Musk has been enriching himself while being subsidized by taxpayers, and Apple has used cheap, if not slave labor to turn a profit. Also, lets not forget Apple decreasing the speed of their older iPhones (to save battery life - yeah, right)..
I guess they figure if they can keep the focus on him we won't notice that they all behave the same way Facebook does.
The democrats thought Obama as a genius when he got personal information on millions of people from Facebook.
