By 1965, doo-wop was an artifact of the past. This band came out of Pittsburgh, and the disk managed to chart both in 1965 and 1970. But neither time did it rise all that high on the charts.

Heck, I wasn’t even paying attention tonight. LOL!
Trying to get tunes posted because I have to head out early. Getting up in the morning - UGH - to head up to the museum. It worth getting up early for though.

We did have a dry day and the sun even peeked out this afternoon. It was chilly though. Tomorrow is supposed to be warm and then chilly and wet again Sunday.

Barry had been lead singer of the New Christy Minstrels, and his gravelly voice was perfect for P. F. Sloan’s “Eve of Destruction,” which would be remembered as Barry’s lone hit. This disk from 1966 features a great Dixieland arrangement, courtesy of producer Lou Adler, and should have done better on the charts. Catch that instrumental riff in the middle!
