Lobbyist almost killed by man he hired to help him investigate Seth Rich murder

Lobbyist Jack Burkman, who began a private investigation into the murder of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich last year, says he was nearly killed after a man who joined the investigation attempted to murder him last week, according to a report.

“It’s a horror story,” Burkman told the Washington Post Monday.

Kevin Doherty, 46, shot Burkman multiple times and ran him over with an SUV, according to the Post.

Nobody is more skeptical of conspiracy theories than I am. Of the thousands of people the Clintons known over the past 45-odd years it makes sense that many passed away over time. And given the high pressure, backstabbing, dog eat dog sleazy nature of politics, it's plausible quite a few died prematurely, from medical conditions aggravated by the nature of this racket, drug and/or alcohol abuse, accidents, suicides, even in VERY RARE cases foul play. But so many associates who died under such bizarre, mysterious circumstances? Like John Ashe, a barbell fell on his head. REALLY?!?? That sounded like an old 3 Stooges routine, but this is no laughing matter!

Doherty was charged with use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and two counts of malicious wounding.

Why the hell isn't Doherty being charged with attempted murder?

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police Department has arrested a suspect for his involvement in an assault in the 1400 block of Lee Highway. Kevin Doherty, 46, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony and two counts of Malicious Wounding. He is being held in the Arlington County Detention Facility without bond.

At approximately 6:43 p.m. on March 13, 2018, officers were dispatched to a hit and run collision in the 1400 block of Lee Highway. Upon arrival, it was determined that a male victim was traveling on foot when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. The male victim was transported to a local hospital. The striking vehicle did not remain on scene.

During the course of the investigation, Homicide/Robbery Unit detectives developed a possible suspect description based on evidence located at the scene and witness interviews. Members of the Emergency Response Team took the suspect into custody without incident at a residence in the Fairlington neighborhood on the morning of March 17, 2018.

He said he hired him, but later fired him for acting like he was in control of the investigation. Now it is quite possible that someone hired him later, and this wasn't about being fired. 8>)

I just wonder why he isn't facing attempted murder charges. Just because he is a bad shot? 8>)
