Lacey Township NJ – -(Ammoland.com)- Two students at Lacey Township High-school, NJ were suspended for posting a picture of themselves shooting guns at a private gun range with the caption “fun day at the range“. The school's zero tolerance policy says that students cannot be in possession of weapons at any time, whether on or off campus.

Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs today demanded in a lawyer letter that the Lacey Township School District immediately rescind disciplinary actions taken against several students for posting social media photos of themselves near firearms at a target range.

Need to go to a court and get an injunction against any punishment. Marxist pigs in the school administration need to be fired.

I wouldn’t have made it through grade school if that was the policy in my day. I had guns and ammo in my bedroom.

I don’t see how that can possibly be legal. Are they going to dictate what church the kid goes to as well?

Particularly they have no standing off campus. Someone needs to go to the school board and make a lot of noise. And if the rentacop security tries to force them out? Is there recall in New Jersey. School Board needs to go away.

We had gun racks in our trucks IN the school parking lot.

The principal would come out and admire new rifles or shotguns with us.

Unconstitutional policies can be ignored. If enforced, lawsuits are in order.

This is why I refer to NJ and states like it as communist states.

The student who posted the statement that I read on Ammoland made one big mistake. He offered to have a mental evaluation. NO. NO. NO!!!! That would be playing right into their hands. He did nothing wrong. School policy violates his 2nd Amendment rights and his 1st Amendment right of free association. Never concede your Constitutional rights. It just gives the tyrants more chances to catch you up.

I could see a zero-tolerance policy about being ILLEGALLY in possession of a weapon, but if they were shooting under parental supervision, the school can stick their policy.

In junior high I would sit in the library and lunch room and look at gun magazines with a buddy of mine.

That would be prison time now.

The school’s zero tolerance policy says that students cannot be in possession of weapons at any time, whether on or off campus.

It not challenged, the school's next move would have been to announce that language includes weapons that were present at the student's principal residence. Somebody needs to be dealt with effectively...

The policy reads: "any student who is reported to be in possession of a weapon of any type for any purpose or reason whether on or off school grounds ..."

That means you can't be in possession of a knife that can cut steak, a knife kept in your fishing tackle box and used for fileting fish, an axe or hatchet for cutting wood ...

... heck, if you're Bruce Campbell, that means a chainsaw as well ...

I'd really like to see them be non-hypocritical and censure all students who have used a steak knife during the school year.

In fact, if the school has a field and track team, they'd better not be throwing a javelin ...

Of course we are talking about New Jersey where it is illegal to buy a SLINGSHOT.

Under New Jersey state law, manufacturing, transporting or possessing a slingshot without “an explainable, lawful purpose” is a fourth degree crime which is punishable by up to 18 months in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

As I recall, BB guns are considered firearms.
