THE World Health Organisation keeps a list of dangerous diseases which pose a serious threat of outbreak.
During a high-level meeting of the best medical scientists in the world, they added another to the high-risk list: The ominously named "Disease X".

That's impossible. Obama worked out that deal and the world has never known such a brilliant diplomat and problem solver. It was as air tight and unbreakable as the Iran nuke agreement.
Chicken Little has a graduate degree.
Disease X, like the Steele Dossier, is a figment of the imagination.
They’re talking about Captain Trips.
Someone’s taking Stephen King’s The Stand horror masterpiece waay too seriously.
Global Warming will cause the spread of Disease X.
They are not referring to a known disease. That’s why they call it X.
As populations and globalization increase the risk from disease spreading increases. Of course over time I would think our bodies would become hardened as everyone gets increasingly exposed to whatever is being passed around. Of course if some brand new or previously unknown disease emerges it will get spread faster than in the past etc etc
In summary — it is a theoretical discussion designed to get hits.
Humanity as we know it now will be long gone well before 5 billion years are past.
It will evolve into something else and populate the stars, go extinct, or be taken to a higher plane (read Heaven).
Substitute “disease X” with “global warming”, “climate change”, “cultural appropriation”, “spotted owls”, “fracking”, and whatever else these progressives can use to scare the dollars out of you, and....
You get a lesson in what “fear mongering for control and profit” is all about.
That is such an apt graphic.
The black death wiped out a third to a half of the population of Europe. As a result of it, people of European descent have a variant of the major histocompatibility complex that makes them less susceptible to certain infectious diseases. This variant occurs at a much lower frequency in populations from the rest of the world.
Oh, and, “I’m not dead yet!”
I don't know about humanity, but I feel fairly confident that at some point within the next thirty years I'll find myself wiped out.
You mean similar to the fake alarm - we will all die due to Global Warming. It’s all in the details as to exactly how we will bite the bullet.
Freeze while sitting on our front porch.
Drown from the rising seas.
Starve from growing famines.
Burn from solar flares.
What about volcanoes. Geesh. How could you forget about volcanoes. I am sooooo disappointed. </s>. Hee hee hee.
Or Plan 9
Oh noes, we are all doomed I tell you.
To be fair, “Planet 9” is predicted to exist due to orbital perturbations in our solar system that point to a massive object in an irregular orbit. Those who have researched it predict that its orbital plane is likely 90 degrees offset from the rest of the solar orbital plane which would mean any impact or interaction with Earth would come from either the north or south pole were we aren’t actively monitoring for inbound objects.
“Scientists discover the only way to kill Disease X bacteria is with Global Warming; Encourage people to: buy SUV’s, run their air conditioners, feed cows beer, pickled eggs and beans.”
Quite doubtful ALL humanity will be taken to Heaven.
Upon arriving some will only see a “No Vacancy” sign and not allowed to register.
HIV is a classic example. Do a search on HIV's history, it actually goes back to around 1920. It's root is in two different strains of SIV found in monkeys that joined together to form a third virus that was able to infect humans......
The WHO is peddling panic. There’s good money to be made in panic, maybe even more than cheeseburgers! BTW, I’m not talking ‘bout The WHO that was talking ‘bout my generation.
