TALLAHASSEE — The Florida House on Wednesday gave final approval to a bill that restricts gun sales and sets up a program to arm some teachers and other school employees. The bill is a response to the Feb. 14 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that left 17 students and faculty dead. The final vote was 67-50. It came after an all-day debate on the measure. Democrats favored the gun control provisions in the bill – a ban on bump stocks, an increase in the minimum age to buy a rifle from 18 to 21 and a three-day waiting period for all gun sales – but object to the “guardian” program that would arm some teachers and other school staff.

Where does it say that a person can be committed to prison for a crime? People argue that once someone has done the time they should be fully restored. I believe the interpretation is if convicted, you owe the time and you have that restriction, unless or until it is restored. The two are separate and distinct parts of the punishment for the crime, and serve to protect the society. I still have the issue with non-violent ‘felons’ having their rights removed once they have done the time for the crime, but I absolutely agree that I don’t want released violent felons to have legal access to guns. (They will find them anyway if they are set upon it)
The bill bans 18-21 years from buying a rifle? Handguns and shotguns are OK then? Not as deadly?

So the young Ms. Gonzalez is the Supreme Leader of Florida, and the legislature there bows to her. Not much of a surprise to an outsider, because all of the other voices in the infamous CNN debate were New York accents except for Dana’s.
Tell more people to join organizations that will defend our Second Amendment rights. This is a critical time for that kind of action.
