President Trump on Wednesday voiced support for confiscating guns from certain individuals deemed to be dangerous, even if it violates due process rights.
I like taking the guns early, like in this crazy mans case that just took place in Florida ... to go to court would have taken a long time, Trump said at a meeting with lawmakers on school safety and gun violence.
Take the guns first, go through due process second, Trump said.

Maybe when someone is accused of colluding with Russians they should be removed from office and get due process later.
It is weird that a guy who has been relentlessly hammered as mentally ill and unstable by untold number of so-called experts does not recognize that his door would be the first one knocked down for a gun search under a democrat administration that shares his belief that you act first, get due prcess later.
Excellent. Wish more people would latch onto this.

we should quit trying to decide what is the better fed approach and just get the hell out. A good fed level approach to such problems does not exist. I dont understand why anyone at a place called FreeRepublic would think there could be one.
That is the saddest aspect of what could have been a golden opportunity for a Republic Re-set if Trump used his skills and influence to push freedom and the principles of a Republic. NOBODY in a position of power ever frames an issue in terms of individual rights and liberties anymore.
“...could have been a golden opportunity for a Republic Re-set... “
Great point. And a great phrase: Republic Re-set!
Were you captain of a debate team at some point? Seriously. You should have been.
Maybe it has been posted, but you are correct. At minute 43:30 the context for Trump’s quote is beginning.

...does anyone not wish they had seized that crazy kids guns?
I wish the police and FBI had done their jobs and it would’ve been a mute point.
I find it too convenient that the kid fell through every crack.
It’s almost as if it was all planned out.
Taking your guns away is the last step between you and living under world government by UN.
Taking your guns away is the last step between you and living under world government by UN.
Or worse ;(
Anyone who wants to shoot up the school will find a way to procure a firearm...steal one, buy one illegally from a
gang, etc.
Why does anyone think the lawless will abide by the laws?
Look at the Chicago murder rate! I suspect practically zero percent of the guns used are legal.
I’m actually very surprised that this meeting was filmed in it’s entirety. I don’t recall seeing these type of things recorded before. Unfortunately, I have not looked for them in the past but I am delighted to have it available.
No way. But I do get talkative when I’ve had a few :)
“Yes I know all the obvious problems with this, but does anyone not wish they had seized that crazy kids guns? Seems to me that should not have violated due process. Insane and death threats to shoot up a school should equal arrest and take his guns.”
True.
Don’t worry about Trump. He’s jumps ahead of the Libtards.
The Dems are smirking behind their cards as they use this disaster to shift him to the left and undercut his base.
“Trump is not defending USConstitution.
Worrying, since if you do not defend USConstitution, you are an enemy of it.”
Trump is 6-7 steps ahead of the Dims.
Have faith.
“So much for Trump. Nice ride while it lasted. Whos next?”
Ye of little faith. Trump is 6-7 steps ahead of the Dims.
Pence is in for 8
Dims are out for 24 years at least.
“I think it was Rush who said that every time Government fails it grows larger and more powerful.
Thanks for nothing, Mr. Trump.”
Have faith. You sound like a troll.
I am with Trump on this one. There is no one on this forum who would not take the guns or call the cops to take the guns when faced with a crazy person with a gun. I have a right to defend and protect myself.
You are spot on in your argument. Who defines crazy is important and the definition is important. But in the common usage of the term as applied to people who have lost control of their mental faculties, the usage prior to liberals stigmatizing it and defining it down, should be easy to define as to who is crazy and poses a threat when armed.
We probably all know someone who should not have a gun because of their mental state. Most people here are responsible enough to take the guns from loved one with dementia or even depression. If you cannot get the guns from them will you wait for “due process” or do you hope law enforcement will act immediately?
As conservatives we cannot let the left corner us into defending crazy people with guns because the left has us scared about how crazy is defined. By all means lets have a conservative minded definition of crazy.

you should be very careful what you say, because I said exactly the same thing a year and a half ago and got banned for six months.
