First, I have NO belief that the people who attended such a Convention would do as instructed, nor limit themselves the the 17th.

Do you not see that with the current group of leaders (and voters), federal and state, that changes in Constitution will simply be ignored? Don’t they ignore Art 1 Sec 8 now? And, we can’t even get our side to show up for special elections!!

I read it and I'm furious.

If someone drives the car in a bank robvery the driver is charged the same as if he went into the bank too.

In my mind that's what the "Promise" program is and they should all face charges.

Arrest these people and put them behind bars for their lawlessness and they might start getting the picture that it's evil, wrong and against the law.

The same goes for that crazy Mayor in California that tipped off the lawless illegals.

You’re welcome. Yes, there’s something to build on. Many on the libertarian right also raise privacy concerns...how much info on citizens should government have. What would you have wanted the Obama admnistration to know about your personal life, for example.

Trump: 'Take the guns first, go through due process second'

No Mr. President, Take the whacked-out freak away first, and give the guns to his sane family members.

Then go through due process (psychiatric evaluation) later.

OK, great concept.

We have a R supermajority in the Texas House. Our recently retired house leader was a uniparty guy, who repeatedly blocked conservative legislation. Do you think that a legislature like this would send a Senator Rand Paul (for example) to the Senate? Or would the Senate get filled with John Cornyn types?

I’ve never understood why the Convention promoters seem to get so upset at those of us who ask questions.

“And you are a gun-grabbing cuck.”

LOL. Fly off the handle much?
My point is Trump is playin’ the dims.
He will not turn his back on the Constitution or his base (65% of America).

And gun control is important. Use both hands.

Have faith.

does anyone not wish they had seized that crazy kid’s guns? Seems to me that should not have violated due process.

Actually they had plenty of opportunity to actually ENGAGE DUE PROCESS and get the punk off the street and seize his weapons. They ignored all of the probable cause that would have provided for due process to work.

Hmmm, so you’re saying that it’s President Trump’s liberal inner self that fights to this day for a border wall, who pulled out of TPP, or what it TTP, who shut down the stupid Paris Climate crap, who works for keeping illegals out (which is weird cuz I thought that was the lib/dem base), who lowers the tax rate on business and ‘the rich’ (dang, I always thought the libs hated the rich), the same man who has conservative judges lines up ready to go - and who is never afraid to take the fight to the enemy. That guy has been hiding his inner lib for 2+ years and the gun grabber is showing now??

That’s kinda cute Wayne, not too logical but cute.

It’s called probable cause. Cops use it all the time to arrest people, search cars, search their person. There are rules to safeguard due process, and consequences for violating the fourth amendment. All long in place. Nothing strange or wrong with Trump’s statement, just how he phrased it. Had the cops bothered to create a record of Cruz’s crazy behavior that would have shown up on a background check, he would never have gotten a gun. But they were too hot for grant money to bother with such niceties. Was that ‘due process’? He was a clear and present danger, and there was more than probable cause to believe that.

If I'm a threat to others, heck I'll take my chances on suicide, that information should be shared. A legal determination that I'm a threat.

No. This is a clear violation of the Fourth, Fifth, and Fourteenth Amendments.

The first thing tyrants do is confiscate guns.

By the way, from now on I am referring to semi-auto firearms, like a typical rifle before OR after a Bumpfire stock is installed, as a single-shot rifle, since one single trigger pull = one single shot. FULL autos would be multi-shot. Beat’em at their word games!
