BREAKING: Democratic rebuttal to GOP House Intelligence memo released
washingtonexaminer.com ^ | Daniel Chaitin

The Democratic rebuttal memo to the Republican House Intelligence Committee memo on alleged government surveillance abuses was released Saturday afternoon.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., acknowledged its release at his appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference, at about 4 p.m.

"It's just posted," he told American Conservative Union chairman Matt Schlapp, quipping that the committee website was probably already crashing due to high traffic.

Democrats say their memo was written as a rebuttal to provide greater context to a Republican memo that was released earlier this month, which outlines abuses by the FBI and the Justice Department against the Trump campaign.

Although the Republican-led House Intelligence Committee voted to make the Democrat’s memo public earlier this month, President Trump refused to declassify it, citing "significant concerns for the national security and law enforcement interests."

... there is no role for the courts to force them to do their jobs.

Of course there isn't such a role. CNN is just a serving, well-resourced mouthpiece. I included others along with CNN, some of whom are patently criminally chargeable. There is almost certainly a mix of federal officials and seemingly corrupt politicians who have misused their offices.

ahh Susan Miller...another fake and phony, Fairy Tale story maker, Liberal/democrat..
I recall Susan from Many, many years ago when she went to jail to protect herself from revealing who her ‘anonymous sources’ were for her reports...

After her release, she was on all the talk shows, and she had the dullest, dry looking, very thin, unattractive hair of anyone, and now she obviously makes plenty of money to afford the very best, custom made wigs...and yes...she wears a full wig, (ask a hairdresser, we can pick them out instantly.) and she looks very good with it...that is why I think she ‘swings’ her head around. !!!

Miller, Tarlov, and Half, ..guess we can call them the ‘Three Musketeers’ all liberal , and all DEMOCRAT for sure...and all dislike our POTUS, DJT..

I haven't gone through the memo with this particular filter on, but it strikes me that substantial sections of it are conclusions asserted by the author, rather than sterile recitation of facts.

Almost all of it is just a weak partisan opinion. Typical dem talking points dressed up to appear to say something when there seems to be little there.

I wonder why Trump released it? It just feeds the news cycle and diverts from his agenda.

Pardon me. I misunderstood. I agree that anyone who misused their powers, lied to the courts, or leaked things they weren’t supposed to release should be prosecuted. Fox had someone on from the Wall Street Journal today who was saying there were no leaks from the Mueller probe. Where is all the info about what they’re doing and are about to do coming from, then? Am I hallucinating? Perhaps the guy from the WSJ is.

-- I wonder why Trump released it? --

He didn't. Both the Nunes and Schiff memos were released by the HPSCI. With the Nunes memo, the WH returned an unredacted version (approved by FBI/DOJ) to HPSCI, remarking that the memo was unclassified. With the Schiff memo, no such letter, but the redactions no doubt correspond with FBI/DOJ request. IOW, same effect, just no letter.

As you read this memo, remember that “multiple” means “more than one”. So, multiple can mean TWO.

Oh, look... Gee, the Dems are moving off of the Florida shooting talking points back to the Memo talking points!!!

Their polling data must show that they’re losing on the shooting talking points.

re: John Effin Kerry.

Back when we were first starting to see him on TV a lot, even before he ran for President, my wife said:

"Look at that, his hair on top is gray, but right around the temples...it's black. That's not supposed to be that way. It's the other way around"

Ken Starr was appointed by a panel of judges.

The rest of what you offer is pointless self-exaltation of your opinion. It matters not that you are correct in the moment because at any moment you could be caught out of step. Because you refuse to acknowledge that, your info is incomplete and pointless.

A special counsel can arise from any of the three branches of federal government.

So now you can go ‘lecture your narcissism’ on others. You add nothing of value here except to gaze at yourself on the screen. I doubt very seriously anyone else is enamored with it.

Now that Schiff has issued his nonsense, the next item is as you mention for the IG report to drop.

However, because the issues involve among several things a FISA warrant tied to the President, I would think Sessions would not forward the report to a grand jury but would confer with Congress as to how to bring about an independent special prosecutor.

It’s a dicey situation. If Sessions keeps it in-house, it gives the appearance that President Trump is prosecuting his enemies.
