When Vonn tweeted her disappointment, Trump supporters were more than happy to bash her There are no participation trophies at the Winter Olympics, only medals. Nobody knows that better than Lindsey Vonn, who finished off the podium in the super-G on Saturday in South Korea. After the race was over, Vonn took to Twitter to express her frustration for the outcome of the race.
In response to the tweet, Vonn's timeline was filled with thousands of responses. The skiing star -- who has been critical of Donald Trump -- found user after user mocking her for the finish, with many referencing "karma" for her poor finish. In December, Vonn said that she was hoping to ski "for the people ... not the president" at the Winter Olympics, a comment that drew the ire of quite a few supporters of the president. Apparently, that frustration hasn't dissipated.

She’s mad that she missed a chance to criticize Trump on a world stage.
She has already won Gold for the USA, in 2014.
Athletes are horrible examples to humanity these days.
Her behavior is par for the course.
The irony of all of this is glaring!
I don’t know why coaches and families don’t stress to athletes to keep quiet about their politics. Half of the people are going to be upset by personal comments!

Lindsey must be angling for a post-Olympics career in Hollywood or the media.
The surest way to get a tongue-bath from those pukes is to disparage our excellent President.
Alternately, he surest way to antagonize a lot of people and ensure they will never listen to a word you say is to disparage our excellent President.

Lindsey is part of the ESPNization of the athlete. Now the glamorous athletes especially are brought into the Hollywood culture. Vonn may as well be a starlet, which undoubtedly is how she thinks of herself. As such, she must espouse the acceptable political positions.
Fitting in with the leftist Hollywood set is as important to Vonn as her athletic training. She wears it right down to carrying her little fog everywhere.
I wish her the best. At 33 she may find that once her career is over Hollywood usually has little use for starlets once they start pushing 40. What will she do then, go back toward the ski fans she should have embraced but alienated. She may find an iced reception.
What she says she is doing is exactly what President Trump is doing for the country. How could she not see that?
