Florida is the worst state in the nation in every way, new rankings say
Miami Hurled ^ | 1/28/18 | HOWARD COHEN

Florida ranks dead last when it comes to rating the best states in the nation. Michigan ranks No. 1, the very best state in the union.

Let that sink in for awhile. Michigan, the state that gave us the Motor City Madman, Ted Nugent and Kid Rock (the poor man’s Ted Nugent), is 49 states better than Florida.

Thrillist’s Definitive and Final Ranking of All 50 States list ranked the states “based on everything.” Specifically, the states’ contributions to America, like inventions, food and drink, “somewhat productive famous people,” and unique physical beauty, among other things.

California’s scenery, ranging from snow-capped mountains and slopes, world’s oldest trees, world biggest tress, fabulous coastline (central, Big Sur, and more), flowered deserts, the world wonders of Yosemite and the high Sierras, et al will save it from ever being ranked last despite the ruination wrought by Jerry Brown and the Demonrats.

Does Michigan have Manatees?

I think not.

How can they be so great if they don’t have Manatees?

“Oh, we’ve got Trout in Michigan.”

Yeah, well so does Wal Mart.

Does Wal Mart have Manatees?

Nope.

Florida wins.

This is an outrage. I have it on good info Maryland is worst. Hell, MD is dead last in “freedom” on one serious survey.

We have family there. I love visiting. I don’t know if I could live there, but that’s because I’m a crochety New Englander. :)

LOVE IT !!!

Keep reiterating that Florida is the worst state in "every way" !

Maybe this will help tamp down the tremendous influx of Californicators and lefty voters from eastern liberal states like NY and Massachusetts, not to mention the bankrupt Illinois abandoners plus the fleeing socialist crowds escaping hurricane-hit Puerto Rico....all pouring into Florida every day of the week.

I live in the No-Sunshine State and I assure the country and everyone reading this that Florida is certainly the worst state in the union to reside....you can take my word for it, really !

NW Florida is one of the best places in the world.

We have many retired military friends who decided you were correct. So after they retired, they moved there.

Our youngest BIL a mere 70 year puppy and his wife leave their snow bound mid west home on New Year’s Eve and drive to NW coastal Floriduh and stay there until about Easter.

When their oldest daughter’s son finishes college in 2019, they will probably just move there. They have told their siblings that they can’t stand Illinois politics, winters and summers, and they will probably just pull the plug and leave. We suggested that they legally make Floriduh their home for taxes and go back to Illinois in the spring and come out here in the summer/fall. Then, go back to Floriduh after Thanksgiving.

Hi.

I agree with Thrillist’s list.

Stay out of FL if you are a democrat liberal progressive socialist.

This is a public service announcement from your FrIendly Floridians.

Raised in St. Pete. Now live near Cape on east Coast. You have to remember, it was Yankee money that built the State of Florida. I would not live any place else. They should rank newspapers for liberal bias. Miami Herald would rank right up there with New York Times and Washington Post.

I moved to the “Treasure Coast” from Vegas 7 months ago.

BS, FL. not Sunshine state, Vegas in 1 month more sunshine than FL. in 3 months.

Rains June, July, August, September and October almost every day, and felt hotter than 100 degrees in Vegas because of soggy humidity.

Also, beaches nothing special, Old people here cause more accidents than any of the 6 other states I have lived in.

Expensive, very expensive, water rates higher than arid Nevada. Your car will rust and get moldy here in 3 years.
Fl. Turnpike costs a lot and road is pot hole ridden. Its only a 2 lane road filled with trucks.

Schools as bad as Nevada. Overall nothing to do here boring.

This is just laying groundwork. When Gov. Scott runs for a national office, the opponents will point back to this story and say ‘See? See what happened while he was Governor?’ And the MSM/LSM will dutifully report it without offering any research to confirm or deny.

Michigan is an underrated gem. If the weather was slightly warmer, it would rank up there with the coasts in terms of tourism...which would defeat it’s charm.

Obviously the people who did the ranking had never lived in California. While I agree that Ted Nugent is a positive factor in ranking a state but that Ted lives in Texas these days.

I also hope Arizona ranked high on the list. After all, we gave the world Marty Robins, Linda Ronstadt and Alice Cooper. And oh yea, the world's biggest hole in the ground.

I lived in St Pete in the early 60’s - before Disney World or the Interstate. To a young kid, it was Paradise.

Subsequent visits completely turned me off. Traffic is brutal & the politics are the same.

Nice weather though...

Do you get this in Florida?

I want to find a summer home in Michigan. My parents were from there and I still have a fondness for the State.

Agreed! I try to sneak down once a year in September (in between hurricanes) and love it. White sand beaches and fresh seafood and the fresh salt air.
