DAVOS, Switzerland No one was declaring President Trump a changed man. Privately, executives and global leaders who had gathered in Davos continued to worry that the American president could yet indulge his worst instincts and his penchant for shock on Twitter to deliver a geopolitical crisis, open up a new front in trade hostilities or offend a vast group of people.
But a rough consensus emerged over Mr. Trumps two-day visit that his administration had shown itself to be more pragmatic than advertised. Many were inclined to view the presidents most extreme positions as just aggressive bargaining postures.
Theres a very constructive mind-set in the Trump administration to find the best path forward, said Vas Narasimhan, global chief of drug development for Novartis, who attended a dinner Mr. Trump hosted on Thursday night with leaders of more than a dozen European companies. Im optimistic that, with other world leaders, most of these issues can be tackled in a productive way for the global economy and for global businesses.
During the dinner, Mr. Trump made the rounds, stopping to ask executives how they plan to increase investment in the United States, according to attendees.

Looked to me like everyone at Davos was completely in agreement with Trump from the beginning!
(Fake news not withstanding!)
.
The Slimes, however, remains a Stalinist rag.
The two people who left Davos humbled and frightened were Macron and Merkel. Trump triumphed. It was the globalist socialists who realized that a growing ,capitalist America is their worst nightmare.
Bypassing the crooked media with their fake spins and misleading stories is President Trumps STRONGEST "penchant."
It's revealing that it only took the Davos people a couple of days to figure out what the American media haven't been able to comprehend in a couple of years. More likely the media simply don't *want* to comprehend it.
The NY TIMES arrived in Davos as a Soros rag. It leaves as a Soros rag.
It was MAGA written all over it.
Well said. Merkel made her little dig at "people who build walls" are disrupting the growth of the global economy. Yes, building walls is part of the solution in America; the lack of border control will be the quick destruction of Europe. But dozens of companies are making billions of dollars of investments in America with the reduced tax rates and reduction of unneeded regulation, and more than a few of them are German companies. Business leaders recognize a friendlier America when they see it.And they welcome a US President who reaches out to business with a firm hand and positive actions to create a better place to grow.
Trump was shining with the business leaders present at Davos; it's what he does best. He will always be an unrepentant cheerleader for a better America and an improving capitalist business environment.
Trump called out the media and was booed.
But this is on a CNN video on some obscure website. I also heard it on the radio yesterday or the day before but didn't get the name of the person backing Trump. Now I have. It is Klaus Schwab the head of the meeting at Davos.
To verify, you can google some of the words of this quote:
"CNNs Jim Acosta, reporting live from the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, told his colleagues that it was a pitiful display to see Klaus Schwab, the head of the WEF, acknowledge media bias against President Trump."
OK, I tried to verify what I said, and I get only one link for a source so I will post it:
There is a CNN video embedded at the link, and I thought I'd better verify. Indeed, the words spoken by Acosta are a little more powerful in relating the head of the WEC and his backing of Trump about media bias.
Acosta also acknowledged a basically positive reception of Trump, but tried to get a jab in here and there.
Maybe Mexico will be forced to fix it’s own problems if it can’t shove them off on us. And Trump is showing how to do it. But I doubt the corrupt elite in Mexico want to let their vast riches trickle down to the people.

This is it in a nutshell.
I thought the party was for him. How can he wreak his own party.
“Acosta also acknowledged a basically positive reception of Trump, but tried to get a jab in here and there. “
Heard that audio. Too funny. Also heard reports Trump was booed at Davos, later found out it was by the media! This is entertainment!
The only ones who thought Trump would be a party wrecker were the main stream propagandist.
ABC had an article today about Ruth Bader Ginsberg who is 84 or thereabouts and plans to keep working indefinitely.
Can't let Trump pick another justice. Took a lot of chutzpah for RBG to say that.
Except for one who called her an old bat or similar the others were giving her kudos in the comments until I got tired of the overwhelming ones pro.
I thought she had pancreatic cancer. Not many survive that. Took my step-mother in 2 months in 1990.
Yep - Trump is a realist - which means he’s gonna always be pissing someone off - even his own base from time to time because they, not being realists, expect to actually get 100% of what they want even though for the past 24 years they ain’t been getting 10% of what they want....
I beginning to think we should have age limits on inside the beltway jobs. The Congressional pharmacy said some (think he said 10 big wigs) have Alzheimers.
I vote Pelosi and Hank Johnson. (”Guam will capsize and tip over into the ocean”) Maybe RBG.
