Glacial archaeologists are racing melting ice in Norway to rescue thousands of ancient artifacts exposed by climate change—revealing something surprising about a mysterious and little-known ice age.
A team of scientists from Norway and the United Kingdom working in the mountains of Oppland, Norway, have discovered more than 2,000 artifacts, including Iron Age and Bronze Age weapons, remains of pack horses and even prehistoric skis.
According to lead author Lars Pilø, co-director of the Glacier Archaeology Program at Oppland County Council, the skis differ from the modern-day version considerably. They're broader, and might have at one point been partly covered in fur. The researchers also found an Iron Age tunic, a Bronze Age shoe (just one) and the remains of sleds.
But that profound environmental change led to a surprising spike in output, the team believes. The sheer volume of artifacts the archaeologists recovered from that period suggests that human human activity and production actually increased. Their compromised ability to grow crops forced the inhabitants to intensify all their other means of livelihood, said Pilø. It's an early and remarkable display of climate adaption.
Pilø also acknowledged that the ability to do this kind of field work is a mixed blessing; the warmer the planet gets and the more the glaciers melt, the more he and his colleagues stand to discover.
“This is sort of a dark archaeology, where we benefit from climate change that's making this ice high in the mountains melt,” Pilø said. "There’s not much we can do stop it, but at least we can be up there trying to find what we can.”

The premise of the archeological research as well as the article are both seriously flawed and expose their agenda.

A few thousand years ago, there were glaciers down to New England, and the south of France. The climate has changed since then. It is foolish to think that the phenomenon responsible for that change is in longer in effect today.

Henceforth, we should cite this if anyone promotes any study showing rising sea levels. THIS is the reason why.
When they come back and say, "Something as small as archaeologists melting glaciers in Norway could not possibly contribute to rising sea levels." -- you can just give them THAT look.....
Sure sounds like an admission that the planet was MUCH Warmer thousands of years ago, and that we are slowly Returning to the level the planet WAS!!!

And why is no one questioning why the areas of Norway were once plush green sub-tropical regions before the freeze? the Article is all about Climate Change, when in fact we have evidence of tow climate changes, one so intense and quick that is free everything. MGM did a short back in 1942 on Glacier and Waterton National Parks. They mentioned the glaciers have been receding since the last ice age 12000 years ago, and “IF THERE IS NO CLIMATIC CHANGE”,they will be gone in a thousand years.
So, glo-bull warming or not the glaciers will still melt.
Maybe it’s the Sun that causes ice to melt.

Little-known is right. Subtle lies like the above allow the deceivers to mislead the masses, as it’s continually repeated.
The time they’re talking about is a “glaciation”, not an ice age.
We are still in an ice age - 4 million years old, so far.
There have been 60 such glaciations within the current ice age, identifiable by layers of moraine.
