Ringo Starr will perform two shows in Israel later this year in defiance of the anti-Israel BDS movement that calls for the complete isolation of the Jewish State. The former Beatle made the announcement on his personal website. It comes just a week after New Zealand singer Lorde cancelled her planned Tel Aviv concert after a vocal campaign by BDS activists.
Ringo has chosen a band that includes fellow rock legends Steve Lukather of Toto, Greg Rollie of Journey and Graham Gouldman of 10cc as the All-Starrs. The two shows are booked for Tel Avivs Menorah Mivtahim Arena on June 23 and 24.
The visit comes 52 years after The Beatles were originally scheduled to perform in Israel in 1966 but were turned away by the government of the day who deemed them to be a bad influence on Israeli youth.

A healthy Ringo
Good for Ringo! But this won’t be the end of it. Fascist leftists (but I repeat myself) will be applying pressure to him. Shaming, name-calling, veiled threats, etc.
Good for Ringo Starr ...
Well, Bieber performed in Israel. Give him credit for that.
Gear!

Later to become President of “Stuff is Getting Better Everyday” America.
Have seen him several times...his shows are always great fun.
Getting Better
The Beatles
It’s getting better all the time
I used to get mad at my school (No, I can’t complain)
The teachers who taught me weren’t cool (No, I can’t complain)
You’re holding me down
Turning me round
Filling me up with your rules
I’ve got to admit it’s getting better (Better)
A little better all the time (It can’t get no worse)
I have to admit it’s getting better (Better)
It’s getting better
Since you’ve been mine
Me used to be angry young man
Me hiding me head in the sand
You gave me the word, I finally heard
I’m doing the best that I can
I’ve got to admit it’s getting better (Better)
A little better all the time (It can’t get no worse)
I have to admit it’s getting better (Better)
It’s getting better
Since you’ve been mine
Getting so much better all the time!
It’s getting better all the time
Better, better, better
It’s getting better all the time
Better, better, better
I used to be cruel to my woman
I beat her and kept her apart from the things that she loved
Man, I was mean but I’m changing my scene
And I’m doing the best that I can (ooh)
I admit it’s getting better (Better)
A little better all the time (It can’t get no worse)
Yes, I admit it’s getting better (Better)
It’s getting better
Since you’ve been mine
Getting so much better all the time!
It’s getting better all the time
Better, better, better
It’s getting better all the time
Better, better, better
Getting so much better all the time!

Thanks, I had never gotten the Postman’s specific slogan reference before!
I'm glad to see Ringo is finally going to play in Israel.
God bless Ringo. The only living Beatle who is not a moron.
Rings has been eminently likable from Day 1 with The Beatles, and now his work with the band is getting a serious re-assessment. In the days of Classic Rock, with the many wild virtuoso drummers, he was much overlooked for his amazing yet understated work. In some cases that was likely due to the limited capabilities of recording technology in the very early years, but also because his worked melded so seamlessly with the rest of the band and with the songwriting. Now he is finally getting his due as one of the truly great talents of the age.
A good guy does well...great story. He is also the very picture of good health and good life practices as he ages...like Trump he eschews all alcohol and drugs (hes older than Hillary by 6 years and just look at the two of them). His only experimentation with drugs at all came in his mid-20s and even then was nothing like the other 3 Beatles. And he is today, at an advanced age, very fit and strong. Something to keep in mind.
I’m glad that one of my favorite bands, Radiohead (althought Thom Yorke can be a bit of a prat at times), also played Israel.
Very small drum kit...but a very distinctive sound!
Yes, and he puts on a heck of a good show!
Thanks for your response. I’ve always liked him too.
He seemed a quirky guy back in the day. I used to laugh at his antics. I always liked him.
Glad to see he has the good sense to go to Israel and make a bold statement by doing it.
Peace and Love!
If you'd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

Just me, but he seems to be aging well.
