Mickey Mouse. Nick Saban. Any Other Republican.
Those were some of names that got write-in votes in the Alabama Senate election as voters suggested their own alternatives to Sen.-elect Doug Jones and Republican Roy Moore in the Alabama Senate race.
An unusually high number of voters — 22,852 people, or 1.6 percent of the 1.3 million people who went to the polls — opted for a write-in candidates, sometimes showing their humor and frustration along the way. “Anyone Else,” “Neither,” and “Any Other Republican” were among the written submissions.
Many of the submission were more serious as some voters followed the lead of Sen. Richard Shelby, who said he could not vote for Moore and was instead writing in the name of another Republican. …

Roy Moore turned out to be the only Republican who could have lost that election. Osama bin Laden would have won if he ran on the GOP ticket.

These write-in votes weren’t critical. It was the 600,000+ people who voted for Trump in 2016 but stayed home in 2017 who cost Moore this election.
Allred is despicable and an attention whore, but she came in after the disaster was created. but you knew that. you’ve got a weak argument, and Allred was the best you had; I get it.

Rather than write-in “Mickey Mouse”, they should just just stay home.
