Everyone suspected the sketchy Steele Dossier was what corrupt FBI and DOJ officials used to get the October 2016 FISA warrant against Trump. FBI and DOJ officials refuse to answer that question publicly.
Despite a hundred different ways congressional investigators have asked the question, and despite numerous on-camera questions to FBI and DOJ officials about the 2016 FISA process, no-one had definitively confirmed the Christopher Steele ‘Russian Dossier’ was the underlying evidence for the 2016 FISA application to gain wiretaps and electronic surveillance upon presidential candidate Donald Trump. Senator Lindsey Graham just confirmed the sketchy Steele Dossier was used to get the wiretap and surveillance warrant from the FISA court. Brian Kilmead understood what he was hearing was serious, but didn’t quite catch the specific gravity of it. Watch at 04:10

This is critical and important because the specific use of the Steele Dossier underpins the BIG UGLY and exposes the entire top-tier apparatus of the FBI Counterintelligence Division (Peter Strzok, Bill Priestap, James Baker, Andrew McCabe) and the DOJ National Security Division (John Carlin, Stuart Evans, Mary McCord and Sally Yates), as well as DOJ Bruce Ohr and FBI lawyer Lisa Page directly to “conspiracy” charges.
The 2016 FBI counterintelligence operation was surveillance on the Trump Campaign and was thinly disguised under the fraudulent auspices of a FISA warrant, sold as a defense of U.S. democracy from Russia, which permitted the wiretaps and surveillance etc.

It would be interesting except for the fact that I’m pretty sure everyone in congress knew and instead of giving him a bump for at least letting it out now, we don’t go on a wasteful hunt to find out when and where each of the hundreds of Rs in congress knew about this

I do not thinks it is as much that the RAT is jumping the ship is that he realizes that the communist McCain is not going to be around to keep him from going to prison.
He has cut a deal either with President Trump on the hush or is working with DOJ Sessions (which I DOUBT) to keep from becoming someone elses BFB in prison. Either way Linda is scared and will spill his guts when pushed harder.

That may be true, I also think that Graham’s conservations with Trump once he got elected also got caught up in the FISA warrants, and his name was not redacted. But more information is probably known now that what was known then.

I saw part of his interview and wondered why Congress couldn’t investigate this? If the FBI is going to stonewall Congress then a SP is going to have a very hard time getting documents, interviews, cooperation. I know Congress has no stones, and many in Congress may be culpable in this so these may be good reasons to appoint a SP. But it is also a chance for Congress to reassert its role in the Republic. They have let these agencies they created run amok. We have seen the IRS abuse, INS abuse, DOJ abuse, FBI abuse and more just in the last few years. Congress needs to grow a pair already.
Yes, I am one of these crazy Americans who think we need a much smaller federal government that can stick to its Constitutional mandate, and that is one of the reasons I want Congress to get more involved. But if they are corrupted - and many may be (not just this dossier, but also the Awan scandal and other inanities that make no sense that need resolution but remain stalled) perhaps a SP would be a way to get Congress cleaned up along with the corrupt top floors of all these agencies involved.
Well you raise a good point - a SP would at least be forced to file indictments. Congress might be far too inclined towards cover-up and whitewashing if they led the investigation. Perhaps Graham has dirty fingers, or maybe he was just duped. If he was duped into using allegations from the dossier in the debates - in other words, if he was tricked by Clinton backers who fed him fake oppo research to damage Trump - then he has reason to be angry and to want payback. (Or payola). Maybe he just sees the writing on the wall.
