God bless unions /s
If union monkeys understood how to operate a business, they might themselves become makers.
I guess ATT knows what kind of workforce they need. Go spend union dues on yourself and democrat politicians, you fatass, worthless union douche.
Some of this is restructuring. ATT will launch thier own “netflix” service. DirecTV isn’t making any money because of escalating fees and users leaving and the “communists” at Netflix stealing users. Comcast and Verizon are also in the works to create their own “netflix. But soon you may not be able to use Netflix without paying extra for it.
“How can you lay people off and then give them $1,000 and say that theres going to be more jobs available?”
Hey Joe, how’d you get to be Pres of union being so stupid? sounds to me like AT&T had too many technicians and call center people in certain areas. Just because some positions are not needed and being reduced does not mean there aren’t more jobs coming. People, your union tools, need to realize they are more than just one dimensional, they need to learn more so they are useful for more then just one cog in one part of machinery of a business.
One thing that is anathema for unions is protecting jobs via advocating transferable job skills.
They would find themselves in much better shape.
Don't know where my real feelings stand.
Sixty days notice is required for such a layoff. Something is not right here
I have no problem with these metrosexuals being laid off. These cocoa-sipping pajama boys, in their . . .
What? They're not metrosexuals? They're from the Kansas City metro area? Never mind. ;-)
[The meeting falls on the same night AT&T announced $1,000 bonuses for more than 200,000 U.S. employees in response to the GOP Tax Plan passing.]
Apparently the “source” of the bonuses comes from the hundreds of people in the metro who will be out of jobs come Jan. 4.
Hope it was “Oscar” from DIRECTV, who keeps calling me about my “special deal.”
I have begged them to take my name off their list, but Oscar keeps calling me from India with my special deal.
Good.
I literally hate AT&T.
Just making room to hire more lower cost illegal immigrants.
They should be thankful that many new jobs are and will be created, and that Hillary isn’t president.
In 2004 when I joined the Department of State, they had AT&T as "basement" cellular carrier. AT&T took my retired military ID and told me they also recognized that State Department Employees can break a contract when put on orders for overseas deployment. I left for Israel five months after signing up and had paid for the phones - but they continue to force me to pay for services for a full year - all the while the Department of State dumped their contract and kicked them out of the building... 7 months of calls from overseas and no resolution. NEVER TRUST AT&T. Both myself and the State Department came to that conclusion. Unfair business practices.
