Trump Resort in Ireland Will Build Seawalls to Protect Against Climate Change

President Donald Trump’s golf resort will build two seawalls to protect three holes on the golf course from rising sea levels and water erosion.

President Donald Trump will finally get the wall he's after. However, it won't be along the U.S.-Mexico border. An Irish council on Thursday granted approval for a wall to be built around part of Trump's golf course in Doonbeg, Ireland to protect it from water erosion.

Trump International Golf Links & Hotel Ireland previously applied to the Clare County Council for a continuous 1.7-mile long wall, but withdrew the application last year. Now, the resort will build a line of two low, concealed seawalls on the landward side of a public beach to prevent storm waters from eroding three holes of the course. One wall will be 2,000 feet long and the other 840 feet long.

In the first application, Trump cited "global warming and its effects," including rising sea levels and water erosion, as reasons for the wall, Politico reported, despite his statements calling global warming and climate change "a total hoax." Global warming was not listed as a reason in this application.

>So he does believe in climate change?

Nope, no one does. Anyone who’s actually checked out the sea gages for the 20th century shows that there hasn’t been much change. However, when trying to get around environmental regs it’s a useful thing to cite. Islands need seawalls as they naturally erode over time.

And apparently they also think that coastlines have been the same for billions of years.

They would be shocked to know that some towns in Britian used to be port cities and are now a mile inland.

To the left, climate change equals man caused climate change. Then don’t understand the concept of causation.

LOL Good example.

Beach erosion is as old as the oceans and dry land.

Since coming back to California in 1969, I learned that dynamic. Beaches lose sand and within a year or two have more than they had before.

It’s cyclical.

Some areas like you mentioned, seem to get more than their share of land creation. It’s an interesting dynamic.

Don’t tell the sea level folks about this. They’ll need medical attention, or they’ll hurt themselves.

You would figure if Trump disregards the idea of global warming, he would leave the beaches alone. But then again, erosion happens regardless of what we may be doing to our atmosphere.

Our C President. (If he would withdraw Chai Feldblum from EEOC consideration and get rid of this Global Warming (TM) wall idea, I could knock him up to a B-.)

Chill, never Trumper.

People build seawalls to protect against natural erosion. How does that mean Trump supports the POLITICAL MOVEMENT AND POLICY OF CLIMATE CHANGE COMMUNISTS?

Yes, that is why he pulled out of the Paris Climate Agreement, as well as, dropping it off the list for national security strategy.

Of course I am being sarcastic, since obviously he doesn't believe in it. 8>)

“Proof of no (alarmist) sea level change in 150 years”

Worse than that, Mont Saint-Michel, the French second most visited tourist spot (after the Eiffel Tower), not far from Fort Boyard has suffered for years from... sea receding. It’s a small rock island at about 1 miles from the coast and hundred of millions $ have been spent to flush the sand accumulating between it and the coast and threatening to attach it to the continent. It’s the part of the coast where land is advancing into the sea, showing that the sea level rise is mostly undetectable and totally negligible compared to our modern terraforming capabilities. And of course, it’s an inconvenient truth that will never be told by the green mafia.

Who doesn’t believe climate stays constant. The Arctic was a tropical climate millions of years ago. However, AFAIK, the climate will INEVITABLY CHANGE. Fixed it.
