The United Nations general assembly has delivered a stinging rebuke to Donald Trump, voting by a huge majority to reject his unilateral recognition of Jerusalem as Israels capital.
The vote came after a redoubling of threats by Nikki Haley, the US ambassador to the UN, who said that Washington would remember which countries disrespected America by voting against it.
Despite the warning, 128 members voted on Thursday in favour of the resolution supporting the long-standing international consensus that the status of Jerusalem which is claimed as a capital by both Israel and the Palestinians can only be settled as an agreed final issue in a peace deal.
Although largely symbolic, the vote in emergency session of the world body had been the focus of days of furious diplomacy by both the Trump administration and Israel, including Trumps threat to cut US funding to countries that did not back the US recognition.

We went 10 years ago and had a good hotel in westminster Up the street near the tube station was large mosque. People always milling outside and taking over the sidewalk etc. We always walked on the other side of the street. My wife is a modest dresser and it was fall. We still got a lot of stares as if we were intruders.

Cut off all US aid to the EU and kick the UN out of NYC.
Amen.
AND, when the EU desperately calls us to beg for help as they realize that they are being taken over by Islamofascists, we can say, "Sorry. Yer on yer own this time."

Fixed it.

Actually, I thought it rather cowardly. At least the ones who voted against, knowing they will lose monetary aid, are putting their money where their hateful mouths are.
The rest are like Obama - voting present rather than taking a stand either way. Neither hot, nor cold. Lukewarm.

Aid to Egypt comes back first. I looked this all up yesterday and we send them a bit over one billion.
That should help that deficit the Democrats are suddenly concerned about.

The United Nations general assembly has delivered a stinging rebuke to Donald Trump, voting by a huge majority to reject his unilateral recognition of Jerusalem as Israels capital. .!.. ..!. The vote came after a redoubling of threats by Nikki Haley, the US ambassador to the UN, who said that Washington would remember which countries disrespected America by voting against it. OK. Carry them out. Despite the warning, 128 members voted on Thursday in favour of the resolution... No foreign aid for you.

CUT off Foreign Aid to all these countries. That was pretty much what his threat was. So he has to announce the cut or else his threats are meaningless.

A "small budget" in the realm of ZERO would do JUST fine. ME? I'd be generous, and give them each $1 so they know we didn't just forget about them.

At this point, when I need to research what position makes the most sense on a particular issue, I can just look at what Western Europe supports - and then go with the opposite.

Kick the UN out of the US. Maybe they should relocate to Iraq and recreate Babylon.

One of the reason that I love this forum is that I always come away better informed than when I logged on. Thank you for this information, it is fantastic.
My small contribution is that I will only buy Polish vodka, LOL.

Ah, back to their old anti-Semitic ways I see”.

It really is time to distance ourselves from Western Europe. The last time I was in Britain there was such an thinly veiled hostile attitude towards me and my small group. It was upsetting to say the least.
All things end and this ending is long overdue.

I assume we still have US troops in the UK and Germany, correct? I think its time we bring them all home.

"9 countries that voted against the resolution: US Israel Togo Micronesia Nauru Palau Marshall Islands Guatemala Honduras"
Remember Guatemala and Honduras. Favor them for trade. Keep a close eye on immigrants, but treat them well. Tell them why (their countries' favor for Israel and the U.S.A.). And don't open up for an absolute flood, of course. Assimilation takes time and does cost more for some.

Cut off all US aid to the EU and kick the UN out of NYC. I agree. I'm ashamed that our alleged allies could vote for this resolution. I trust it won't prevent the U.S. from moving its embassy to Jerusalem where it belongs.
