The Bureau of Land Management is auctioning off 10 million acres worth of leases Wednesday for oil and gas exploration in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (NPR-A), 150 miles west of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).
Republicans in Congress are fighting to open ANWR to oil and gas exploration through the GOP tax bill. The Trump administration is moving ahead with oil drilling in Alaska through the NPR-A, 23 million acres free from the federal restrictions that cover ANWR.
The 10-million-acre lease offering will be the largest single lease sale in the history of the area. The previous record was set in 2004 when 5.8 million acres was offered for leases, the Alaska Journal of Commerce reports. The latest lease sale in 2016 brought in $18.8 million for 1.4 million acres.

More WINNING!!
AND I AM NOT TIRED OF WINNING YET!!!
I expect the weenie-whiners will be filing court challenges to this. Thank God that Trump is not scared of a little dust-up.

After all, what other country does not utilize its natural resources? Who gains from America not using its own natural resources? China and Saudi Arabia.
What is the most effective two ways to keep America from using its natural resources?
Buy politicians who will implement policies to restrict resource exploitation, and fund environmental groups who will lobby for those policies, and then endlessly litigate them in Court.
Look at the money required by the environmental movement to fund its armies of lobbyists and lawyers. Those people expect to be paid and paid handsomely. The Sierra Club does not come up with that kind of money by having grandma send them $10 because she saw a photo of a sad looking polar bear in her Good Housekeeping magazine.
Follow the environmentalist money and I'll bet you find a lot of it comes from the PRC and KSA. The mere fact that they have so much to gain from this policy tells me they are doing it.

I didn’t realize we’re still importing 50%. I thought I’d heard it was much less now.
At any rate, I agree with your thought that we do need to manufacture more here.
I’ve never bought into the idea that wages causes an exponential rise in the cost of items.
If a company is putting out 200 widgets an hour, how much is cost adding per widget? I know there are a number of variables in that equation, so I don’t expect an answer.
If I can, I try to buy American. It’s seldom you can these days, but I see it once in a while.
Stopped by the Ford dealership to get my Mercury Mariner service last week. Each new car had a list of where the parts came from the percentages, and the assembly site of their cars on the window.
I liked that.
I agree that Trump’s instincts are 180 degrees from Obama’s.
His instincts are why I supported him at every step of the process last year.
His were 90 to 180 degrees from the other GOPe candidates too.

I am in Arizona and have a friend here from Alaska who told me in the last year that Alaska was having problems economically because oil NYUs try was not strong. She sold her home there. Her daughter is still up there but hurting economically. It is the case?
