Parhamovich said he was carrying all that money because he didn't want to leave it behind in his apartment. Plus he had some large music-related purchases coming up in the near future. A fair question might be: Why not put the money in the bank instead?
And I suppose a fair answer would be: It's a free country. He should be able to do whatever he wants to with his own money. (The Wyoming police evidently disagreed with that.)

Sessions will not approve of this judges decision. But I approve bigly.

Many if not most musicians are paid in cash after their gig.

The so-called musician had nefarious purposes for that cash. Undoubtedly. BUT, the Wyoming Judge was completely correct in ordering it returned.
Having some knowledge of law enforcement, I can tell you officers are griping today about this judge and will whine like 8th graders for months about any this judge does or says.

Some people do not trust banks.
There is a reason for this. Multiple countries have declared “bank holidays” where you cannot get your money out of the banks. Those “holidays” can stretch out a long way, or allow the government to seize funds.

Because some people (including me) don't trust them...

officers then told him that he could leave if he signed a form saying he was giving the $91,800 to the investigative agency for “narcotics law enforcement purposes.”

LEOs take an oath to defend, protect and uphold our Constitution. What the hell ever happened to that? Instead they now blatantly break the law and keep the rewards. Guilty until proven innocent?!

That cash might buy a couple of ‘58 Les Pauls or a mint condition blond ES 335 with double white PAF’s and the original stop-tail setup.

If the judges orders the sherrif jailed for contempt, it will probably expedite the cash return. Signing anything was under duress.

I don’t care whether he intended to pay taxes on that money or not. I don’t care whether he intended to use that money for “legitimate” purposes or not. It was stolen by law enforcement, and I’m glad he’s getting his money back. I hope he will also recover damages. Stealing is not okay, not even when government officials are the ones engaged in theft.

He lied and said it was a friend's. Dumb really, really dumb. At that moment the cash became abandon property.

How is this not considered anything but outright thievery and abuse of authority?
And Jeff Sessions supports this. Sessions is and probably will be the single biggest mistake Trump will make during his presidency.
