What was the original stop for? Sounds like a cut&dried violation of the 4th and 5th by Uncle LEO. The main highways through Utah and Wyoming are major drug traffic routes. The cops use even the tiniest violations as an excuse to pull over vehicles, especially those with out of state plates. If they are denied access to the vehicle they will call in the drug dogs.
