No double jeopardy for being charged with repeated illegal entry as a felon since he was never charged with that in the first place, sorry.
Just heard on Fox News that the Federal Government is going to start arresting the state and local sanctuary folks on Federal Obstruction of justice charges... If they release the illegal or block ICE.

This guy was brought up on State Charges. A person can always be brought up on federal charges if a evidence of a federal crime also exists. This is not a wiggle around, it has been a fact for a very long time.

I've been stewing all day on this, and came to two conclusions before I saw this news: (a) Trump was going to have him arrested on federal charges; and (b) those charges would relate to multiple entries, terrorism and status as non-uniformed enemy combatant ie gang related offense(s).
Everyone should realize that the perp is never going to be set free, and two, if the DOJ does their job correctly, he should receive the death penalty no different than McVeigh.

I think the Feds can charge him as a felon in possession of a firearm . 10 years in Federal Prison. Democrats should be jumping for joy oveer a firearm charge!!!

Double jeopardy only applies to being charged twice in the same jurisdiction. This is why someone like Mcveigh could have been charged with 168 homicides in Oklahoma as well as at the federal level.
I have read that federal officials do not take precedence over the sheriff of any county.
They may trot that out if it’s true.
